So my dad is a public figure and my family was kinda in the spotlight in our smaller city (about a half million). We would regularly get death threats. I remember having somebody threaten to shoot me at a county fair while I was 11 years old because he didn't like the political party I was volunteering for.
My dad regularly got goofy death threats, you don't take them seriously but they add up. Honestly, after reading your first sentence, it was difficult for me to feel sorry for you. You don't get to intimidate your way into getting what you want. Of course he called the cops.
We rarely ever called the cops in regards to the death threats, but believe me there were a few that we did for and I grew up terrified my dad would be killed. He honestly was just trying to help the community and place he grew up in.
I myself am a social worker and therapist and have had to call the cops once. Your threat must have sounded pretty damn credible because we get people telling us they are going to harm us all the time.
Just realize, you sound extremely unhinged. I doubt that is your intent. I have had very frustrating medical experiences myself, but the last way to get help is to start threatening people.
I will also tell you the story of how terrifying it was to walk into the house as a 5th grader, check my answer machine and tell you how scary it was to hear somebody specifically describe how they were going to kill my sisters and I and stick a shotgun up my dads asshole and pull the trigger. Or hear about how my sisters were going to be raped in front of my father and I etc etc etc.
This isn't giving somebody a "piece of your mind" its threatening them. Not okay. I think the current political climate is making some people think this is "strength" but its actually a display of weakness.
