Ok heres the deal. My flower area is 38"x34"x78", and ive had a few grows out of it. I run a 600 in a cool tube in the dirt. but im thinkin of doing a aero setup with 6" pvc. 3 rows of 3. how much water will the system need? how long does the pump run? will i also need a air pump? ive been reading bout it, but with 1000 page threads, it can get to be a bit much.

how much water will the system need?

18 gallon+ reservoir for every 10 plants.

how long does the pump run?

Cycle timer - 1 min on and 5 minuets off cycle. People have had success with other times like 1on/4off and 15on/15off.

will i also need a air pump?

I believe an air pump is not nessassary with a short cycle timer. It's almost cosidered a "constant water flow" and oxygen will enter the water with each spray cycle.

all just my opinion of course....

well i plan on making a aero setup out of 6"pvc. 3 rows of 5. veggin till about 12" then flowering. I veg with CFLs, and will be making another unit for clone/veg. what size pump will i need to run? and what kind of yields can i expect? and i have seen that aero is faster that dirt? im sick of dirt. im trying not to expand the size of the area i use. which is under most of a staircase.

hey pup i have an aeroflo i bought it actually its a bit of a pain but well worth it.....whatever u do dont veg your clones at all just start them in a low ppm like 2-250 and a good ph....within a week they will grow huge....i usually top mine so they dont grow too high cause of the system, just when the root mass isnt that great keep the thing flooded then lower the tubes water so you get more oxeygen.
i run my pump 24/7 i shut it off for an hour here and there cause the pump will heat up your rez alot. also i would highly recomend getting a chiller for that reason. if you are running a home built one i would use air stones just for backup.

but all in all i like aero and i hope you do well......gl......
