I want BETTER quality SHIT. I need tips. Strategies. Anything.

Currently run DWC. 1k watt lamps. General hydroponics nute solution. 112 watt air pump. air cooled hoods. SOG type growing (clone to flower). Nirvana papaya/bubblicious strain.

What can I do to grow better quality buds. Like shit that puts you to the floor when you hit it? Better strain? better nutes (like big bud, density, canna, etc)? co2?

for complete nutrient solutions you should be using dyna-gro

do a little research and then look into possibly buying these 4

Dyna-Gro Foliage-Pro
Dyna-Gro Liquid BLOOM
Dyna-Gro Pro-TeKt
Dyna-Gro Mag-Pro

switch up your medium to soil. i think i remember reading somewhere that soil produces better quality than hydro. I use foxfarm ocean forest mix(organic) and get the nutes from foxfarm too.

Depends on whats better to you?
First off, many will argue but the number one factor is going to be drying process.....
Secondly, you must get better strains, not that those strains are trash but it takes more growing expertise to perfect less quality strains. I have never been able to screw up 2 strains that stay in my garden and those 2 are Reserva Privada OG 18 and DNA King's Kush, I don't give a damn if you pull them after 4 weeks, they knock you dead on your ass... Both will prevent you from going to sleep unless you over do it but both will taste wonderful and preserve conessiur (sp) qualities even with less experienced growers....

OutDaCloset,
This is incorrect.... I have grown same strains in soil, hydro (DWC), and aero and I can tell you that IMHO:
Soil tastes better than any other method but generally yields less weight.
Hydro is better and will Yield significantly higher than soil.
Aero is the best as you can truly have 100% control but it is more expensive and more work. If you are going to go Aero you MUST control water temp, PPM, and PH as there are no buffers like soil... I use a small 1/15 aquarium chiller. You cant spend half the money or you results will mimic a decent Hydro set-up. So for a beginner, I would start in soil or hydro and make the move to aero later when I was more experienced. I used an Ocean forest light warrior mix with the entire fox farm line-up. Now I use Envy A and B because its better for aero and still use the 3 fox farm amendments with big bud from AN. Hope this helps or course it's only opinion.

ive used GH nutes in ff soil and got amazing results. not the heaviest yield but not bad at all either.

GH is soo synthetic salty nasty shit....!!!
synthetics don't grow nasty shit, shit growers grow nasty shit. i hear so many soil only growers talking shit about hydro, i have a hybrid garden (soil and top feed buckets) and i use both fully organic products for my soil, and GH with my hydro. i get similar results, both taste and smell fucking great, hydro yields more though, not dramatically but still.

they both have their advantages and it's up to the grower and his/her techniques when it comes to quality.

upthearsenal,
I agree with your last statement - hell quality is really in the eyes of the smoker/patient.... But I have found that when I do soil to DWC grow side by side my yields are dramatically different. Both hydro and soil produce great bud.... SOil WILL taste a bit better especially depending on strain...but hydro and let alone aero with a chiller will absolutely kill soil..... I am currently running a aero with chiller though...

G13 HAZE WITH ADVANCED NUTRIENTS!

need i say more?
PLEASE BE ADVISED: Reserva Privada OG #18 and I don't give a damn how you grow it... Chemdawg yield is amazing and quality----- "BEST IVE EVER HAD TO DATE" but I love kush... King's Kush and OG #18 are WONDERFUL for quality (yield, taste, high 10,10,10) Ive even had to pull one after 4 weeks due to aero set-up needing soil plants room (during transition) and it was still better than anything I could ever remember (including but not limited to: Super lemon Haze, Blueberry, NYSD, Chronic, Church, Blue Cheese, White Rhino, White Widow/Blue cheese mix, Rocklock) Out of nearly 50 strains and hundreds of plants I have only found the particular two mothers mentioned worthy of keeping a mother.

Absolutley Man!!! Furthermore, maybe it was the particular phenos that I had but they TRULY TRULY preferred the soil and Ive went aero. The strain is very good but it takes entirely too long to flower for such low yields and its pretty good for Anxiety/Depression as it really lifts you up and puts you in a lets do it - and thinking very critical. Wonderful during finals for all those graduate students taking intense classes. I would tote a SLH before a test or something that required concentration (a great daytime high) but I don't smoke that OG#18 unless I don't have shit to do all day cause once you start it doesn't give you an immediate couch lock whatsoeva but it taste so damn that you are truly somewhere else. My thing is, SLH can help you do better on a test but OG #18 makes you say F**K this test...Almost like an Euphoria sometimes....I grew soil for years then DWC and now AERO, Im sure its just in my head by I swear that the faster and more productive I get in water then the less taste I get in my opinion. With OG#18 and King's Kush (I searched forever before settling on my 2 mothers) loose little taste vs soil and produces literally 2X what I can get from SLH via Aero. I thought the original post was about a strain/process that would knock this guy on his ass, I wouldn't recommend SLH for this.... Don't put to much into those Cups and competitions because they are all driven by money and can be bought, the true purpose of those competitions know a days is advertisement and getting rich the days of all those competitions being truly devoted to the product and communicating the best breeders and their products got really cloudy once BILLIONS of dollars were at stake...IMHO

winning the cup isn't everything. i've grown the super lemon haze and harvested 2 different phenos off 3 plants, and it was really good shit, but certainly not the best i've ever had. i've never had chemdawg but i hear rave reviews. it's all in personal preference, really. i've tried several "brand name" strains and been less than impressed more than once. i've also had bagseed weed that was at least in my top 15. it's about finding that strain that's just right for you, and getting the healthiest most desirable plants from those seeds. it can take a while to find the right plant if you're as picky as i am :weed:
