I want a water pump that does not heat up. I used to have an inline pump. I never tried it running continoulsy. I used it for ebb and flow.

I am gonna use it for an a recirc dwc. I dont want to use a chiller.

Hey i wonder how that dude heat does it. I have to check that.

I know my 500 gph harbor freight in a bucket heats up fast.

Im in the final stages of a recirculating dwc set up and I plan to start running it tonite with just water in it to see how the temps are,I have 4 square kitty litter buckets that I believe are around a 3 to 4 gal capacity linked togeather with an 18 gal tote as my res.I made a box slightly bigger than the tote and put the tote in it and filled the space with spray foam insulation,I also found some thin silver insulation with adheasive backing and used that on the buckets, the pump is a 400gph and Im going to run the pump for 15 min. every hour and see how steady the temps are. I dont think there is a pump that wont heat up over time, thats why Im only going to run it for 15 min an hour this will help to cool the pump before it gets to hot if that works then I will increase it to a 1/2 hour on 1/2 hour off. just need to go and pick up a few shut off valves to make changing the res easyer. if your interisted in the results pm me in a few days I want to run it for a week or so to work out the bugs before I put my clones in them

hehe, i found out that every pump, including the one I have is inline. Yu just unscrew the cap and put in a male peice. presto. i got a 250 gph I am going to run. I am running a modifed 2 liter bottle system i used once only with fiev gallon buckets on a card table. I am putting a drain in each bucket at the top back to res so as to continue to pull water to all the buclets from the control five gallon buclet. It is a lot like that thread, 50 dollar ebb and grow. except I am going to run it as a rdwc with more drains. I hate the thought of all that hydroton. It is a cheap as fuck build and beat buying a few 3x3 tables and using low 10 gal rubberaids. Altho if I crack I might buy a table anyway as the ease of setup is too cool. but the diy rdwc feel real good.

oh yeah, i am running the pump in some water too see if it get hot. I hope a 250 gph wont get too hot. I never had any heat issues so far with standalone buckets. I also thot of every 15 inutes. The roots can take some air time.
