I thought California was the place where it's at?

I'm here in Illinois a buddy just brought me 6 clones from a clinic near LA. These cuttings are 3'' tall put in rockwool that is sarturated no roots would grow because it's so wet. Also the person that cut em only cut a 45 angle thats it and to top it off charged 15 each for them,Which is fine with roots. When I give someone a cutting it's fully rooted ready to plant. First experience with Cali not impressed. Do all clinics do this?

so your buddy brought you clones from california? i bet your buddy was the one that soak the rockwool to transport them to Illinoi, just my guess and why would you buy lones from cali when there are plenty in Chicago and elsewhere in your state?.

Because I want some strains that originate from there

You can find some clubs with good clones, just a handfull if that. I hvae found one that i really like, its in Orange,cali.

Sounds like this could have been a problem for you no matter where the clones came from. They most likely got soaked during transportation. Don't let this experience sway your opinion of CA, I love it here and haven't had any serious complaints about the clones from dispensaries. The only issue I've ever had was with mites, but they weren't that bad and that was a quick fix. Now I just make sure to thoroughly expect the babies before taking them home from the clubs.

Just curious, how did your buddy transport the clones to you and how did he keep them under enough light for the trip?

maybe they SELL cuttings that arnt rooted (never saw one in cali in aprox 15 clubs visited, all had roots) but why would u buy a clone that doesnt have roots coming out the bottom?

thats funny..your buddy probably went to a WEAK spot..the weak spots charge 6-10 bucks for one clone that is somewhat rooted but usually the leaves dont look so great..im in san jose, Ca & out of the 40 co-ops that i've been to, i will ONLY buy my clones from like 4 of em and they charge 10-14 dollars top per clone..not everybody in cali has healthy clones lol anywhere for that matter
