Anyways she's about 3 weeks into veg no problems, but before the start of the 5th node. I pinched part of the top off with my fingernails .

I watched a bunch of tutorial vids, but now that the growth is back I really can't tell if I did it correctly...

Did I just miss a "fuck I missed" ??? Lol

Just created a new FIMTM " Fuck I missed the miss....

i recommend just taking a full chop of the main stem below the top node difficult to screw up and works on most plants very well. This would be the aforementioned "topping" apposed to "FIM" the result is very similar

I thought the same thing when I first did it, lol. "DId I just miss the F I missed? It takes more time to recover from the fim then just topping, as someone else said. Give it time, all will be well.

Your fingernails are a pretty crude instrument to be operating on your babies. FIM'ing is removing most of the top crown to influence growth. It is possible to achieve the desired 4 top colas replacing the one if a proper FIM is performed. Means using small surgical scissors, a disinfectant and a knowledge of where the "sweet" spot is. Even an old pro like me gets less than 4 colas half the time. So refine your technique and learn where to cut. Serious attempts get serious results. BigSteve.
