I'm 19 also. I've been looking for a job since I graduated high school
and started college. Right now I want to try and work at a nursing home.

My cousin works there, and I hope she will help me out to get the job
But the only thing that sucks is that they make you sit there and fill

out the application because they don't want you to leave. And I also
have to get my CPR card, First Aid Card, and Food Handlers card.

Wtf, the next CPR class at the college doesn't start until July 25th!!!
That sucks.

CPR card- $65
Food Handlers- $27
First aid- ????

Where the fuck am I supposed to get all that money if I'm looking
for a job?

True. No one wants to hire inexperienced teens. But I did an internship
at one of my local hospitals, and I'm hoping thats enough to at least

get them to consider hiring me even though I don't have all of the
requirements.

you are still young... and you dont have kids right?? just get out there and hit it hard.... i wont say nobody, but very few people jump into their lifelong, well paying, stable careers.... but it will come with some work.... turn that anger at the asshole into drive for your own life..... you'll be just fine, just dont give up and keep looking forward.



for an update on my own situation.... i just got back from boss's house.... he wouldnt really talk to me bout today... as it is over, but he did kinda fish for info from my wife while kingtrip and i were working out.... i dont think he is too upset about me missing today, just wary about me in general.... he knows my background, which is dually why i have the job, and also why he is wary and watching me like a hawk..... it'll be fine though.... tomorrow is a new day.

First impressions are hard to shake in my opinion. However, one day doesn't solidify it in stone. Like you said, give it your all. Your entering a whole new field. It should be exciting.

I just want this job to be able to pay the bills ya know?
Not like a life long thing, I'm in school to be a PA or RN.

I'm 18 just graduated high school and I'm taking over my dads construction business, he has bad the company for over 25 years and I wud always go help him during the summer and during breaks,,, I'm only 18 but I have a great respect for my parents work ethic, yeah I know my situation isn't the worst it can be but come on man don't u feel embaressed?? Ok if ur gonna live a rich lifestyle that's great for u! But don't be an ass about it calling he hard working parents dumb..... If I never had to work a day in my life I wud be so greatful of my parents, I wudnt call them dumb I wud tell them thanks for wat life they allow u to live,,, I know that guy isn't gonna reply but seriously man when I saw ur posts I literally felt sick to my stomach, man up homie and thats coming from somone thats younger then u!

well i lived alone then, payd my own bills.. workd on the constructions sites for a bit huge money there i tell ya.. like 8 grand for 4 weeks and i only helpd the guys carry bricks :d woot woot !

made loads of money, spent it all on cocaine and stupid shit XTC !

im totally not fuckd up from it all, i think that i was totally fine with it, one day had enough of that shit... started earning money again without spending it all.. started growing weed

Started my own business about 3 months ago..... slowly coming along nicely...

ohhh and i never did any 3 year college only did my school that was mandatory.. and also did a 1 Year course of IT....

It took you awhile but at that age it is understandable. Then you developed RESPECT for money and the work it takes to get it. Well done... When money is just handed out, the respect lesson is lost, and it is perhaps the most important lesson of all. This is why Socialism never works. People no longer get the message and meaning behind individual achievement. Props to you DWR.

just finishing up my second day, and end of the first week.... im actually enjoying it... dont know ALL of the in's and outs but, i was busy and productive the whole day... bosses are pleased, and im on salary... good shit

There are firms that just research properties? I did that several times when working for an attorney. Maybe I should start a business. It was pretty interesting work.

I dont have a job but Iam collecting employment insurance.

why would the last be the best in this situation??? i stand a good chance (guaranteed as long as i stay there) that i could be a top exec. of this company in a few years.... and that is with NO college, a felony record, and being always stoned..... you cant ask for a better setup than this....
