I agree but I think my pollen was viable since I put them in freezer for only 2 months. It's possible the pollen wasn't viable if you're not seeing calyxes all swollen with some even splitting after a month.
The male may have been shooting blanks.
A day after pollination the white hairs are usually noticeably shrivelled and turning brown on any that actually took.
Really, how do you see that?Looks like tons of seeds to me
I hope I'm wrong but it looks like it didn't take. Your white hairs look a little too plump to me. How did you put the pollen on? Maybe your pollen was moist when you froze it. You have to dry it some first. But maybe you will have 4 or 5 in there somewhere.Hi guys, this is my first attempt of me to cross my collections.
I polinated this with some pollen from Iandrace satlva strain.
After 30 days I was wondering where will the seeds come from?
Strain: R.unt.z OG
Time flowering: Day 48 (Week 7th)

I was using a small paintbrush and just try to tip in between pollen to the hairs. I even did this twice in different days.I hope I'm wrong but it looks like it didn't take. should have worked then. like old med user said sometimes you get a sterile male.I was using a small paintbrush and just try to tip in between pollen to the hairs. I even did this twice in different days.
Ok thanks bro, I hope the seeds will shows up in the next week since I was planning to harvest this girl in 2 weeks.I downloaded the pic to my computer to blow it up for a better look and I'm not seeing fat calyxes but that was a month ago you dusted her so the fat ones could be overgrown by new ones and be deeper in. In another week there should be seeds splitting the calyxes and they are easy to see but still should be able to see them this close to being ripe.
Well to be honest the pollen was not even coming from a male since my landrace strain will always be hermies, so these pollen were actually from hermies.should have worked then. like old med user said sometimes you get a sterile male.
ok cool, will update this thread in the next 2 weeks or soyou should see seeds pop out of bud by grow end if it works.
Much more likelihood of it not being viable then. I've had a lot of plants throw 'nanners that I didn't find until trimming when they were all dried up but didn't find seeds in many cases.Well to be honest the pollen was not even coming from a male since my landrace strain will always be hermies, so these pollen were actually from hermies.
FYI hermie in my landrace strain is not handmade, they're very hermie prone so basically it will be hermie from the start hence I think the pollen are so viable.Much more likelihood of it not being viable then. If there are any seeds they should all be mature in another week or two so you should be fine cropping on schedule if all the trichs are milky at least.
I've crossed lots of plants and the last couple years been getting into making fem seeds with STS. 7 out of 7 times I've got pollen then seeds from it so far.
I know what you mean that the pollen is from natural hermie plants but like the ones I've had that are the same a lot of times the pollen doesn't work. I had an OG#18 like that I only kept because it didn't make seeds from the hermie flowers.FYI hermie in my landrace strain is not handmade, they're very hermie prone so basically it will be hermie from the start hence I think the pollen are so viable.
I also trying to make pollen from female plants with colloidal silver, but this will be for the next season pollination to make feminized seeds.
Yes I agree but they're hermie not because of their bad genetics, mostly landrace in my place are hermies because of nature made them like that. This is what I want to fix with crossing it with my Runt.z strain.I know what you mean that the pollen is from natural hermie plants but like the ones I've had that are the same a lot of times the pollen doesn't work. Hermies are just bad genetics and rarely worth keeping when male flowers appear early in flowering. Hermies beget hermies so I generally get rid of them as soon as they show up. If the male flowers show up at the end of flowering then that's what is used to make fem seeds that aren't prone to produce hermie plants.
To prevent getting hermie fem seeds I like to keep clones from my girls and let the moms flower completely to make sure none of those hermie and only use the STS or colloidal silver on the clones from the good moms to get pollen from. I've given away a lot of seeds made like that and none have been reported to produce hermies.
Fun hobby.
Yeah I'm not sure why I keep it in freezer, maybe since I heard pollen could be put in a freezer then would lasts 5 years.A couple thoughts:
If you painted the pollen on (dry brush I hope) then you’re not going to see a bunch of seeds but as they ripen you should see some popping out. I use a cotton swap with great results but have had as few as 14 seeds in a plant.
If you’re going to use pollen within 2 months I would just keep it in the fridge, I’ve used pollen 6mo old with success that was stored in the fridge.
Thanks, your buds looks awesome! After 30 days it should be easy to spot seeded buds, no matter how you pollinated them. I'm doing some crosses right now. I just applied a little bit of fresh pollen on the buds with a small brush. This is what the buds look like after 2.5 weeks. Still some white pistils showing but calyxes clearly have seeds in them and most pistils are shriveled back.
10 years pollen still viable? Wow!The seeds are in there more than likely. In over 10 years Ive never seen a sterile male or sterile pollen. The seeds are deeper in, your plant probably grew more bud on top of it. I had trouble finding the seeds in a Big Bomb I hit with GDP pollen recently. I found them and there were hundreds but I couldnt see even one while it was growing. Happens alot where I cant see the seeds. Also I've used pollen after 10 years this year that was in the freezer and it worked perfect. A few of the popped seeds from this run though have some mutations and deformaties. Not sure if thats the actual genetics or if its damaged DNA from being in the freezer so long.
