I ordered a new Grow Book acouple weeks ago..

Called "The Secrets of The West Coast Masters" by Dru West.. I haven't read it cover to cover yet, just kinda picked through sections of interest & read those 1st.. Suffice to say from just what I've seen & read I'm not really at all impressed by this book so far (not for $44 at least lol) though the parts on building your own equipment is pretty thorough, the directions are albit hard for me to follow?! Idk maybe its just me.. Along with that I picked up another copy of Greg Greens "The Cannabis Grow Bible" 2nd edition.. :O My 1st copy got thrown in the trash! :O

I'd try to get Ed Rosenthals book.. It looks like a good one.

i have those books. that west coast growers book is good if you have room enough for giant plants, the ed rosenthal book is really good, it reads like a text book, lots of info. The cannabis grow bible is really thorough too. i would suggest jorge cervantes grow bible, its a great reference.

i would go with rosenthals or van patten...er cervantes book

ED Rosenthal's book and Jorge Cervantes' book are the two best in my opinion. I've read through quite a few. I'm just a bit more fond of Rosenthal's book. He touches on a few things Cervantes does not and I feel it is better organized, and the pictures are prettier.

I was never fond of Ed Rosenthol books.. Idk, after awhile I even became disinchanted by HighTimes & Ed all together..!! Mel Thomas, Greg Green & there was another grower I like.. but he's names a loss to me right now.. Guess I'll have to give George Cevantes books another gander..

Why just look at one persons opinion? No need to buy a book when you have rollitup. You can get a yay or nay about any thing rite on this site.

Id much rather have books to reference then if i still cant figure it out or have questions i can ask on here. plus books dont have horrible attitudes like some people on this site.

I much rather have fact from Rosenthal or Cevantes than an opinion from some noob on RIU that doesn't know what he/she is talking about. The quality of help has really declined here recently. I see people spouting misinformation all day as if it was fact. Anything I hear here I get a double and triple source.

the cannabs grow bible by greg green
closet cultivator by ed rosenthal
MJ growers handbook also by ed
the bible is just that-it's everything from start to finish to touching on breeding; my evolution as a grower went closet cultivator, handbook, then bible and it was baby steps perfect for me. 10 years from 100 watts HPS to 3 600 watt HPS and 3 chambers blah blah. Depending on where you're at in the evolution of your art I recomend one or all of those books.

I feel you on that-its like I out grew them quick and wanted more in depth stuff. medium to high level knowledge on the subject in book form is kind of tough to find. Beginer shit is EVERYWHERE but indepth breeding and the how and why for micro nutrients and actual energy usage in the plant stuff is harder to find. not impossible but harder to find specific to MJ

The most informative books that i have run into after gaining a working knowledge of the canna plant are Greg Greens, canna grow bible!, and the revised version, and the canna breeders bible, also by greg green. A cool old strain specific book is The Good Bud Guide, by Albie. All these are availiable with many others through greencandy press or Quick American printing. greg green forgot more about cannabis than most people know!!!!

My favorite is Ed's Handbook.

MSU has some great courses taught off campus around MI. They encompass soils, fertilizers, irrigation, entomology, pesticides, diseases, etc. Good, good stuff, the only thing you'd need extra to know is lighting.

Would you post a link to some info on the MSU programs you're talking about?

It's changed a bit, but if you call and say you just want to attend certain classes they usually work something out.

Edit: I know they have courses in the Metro D area. Just ask them about something in the area you're from.

There's a good reason i've bought none of the grow books available. There is no need for them given the information freely and easily available.

I have a few different books, including the west coast masters book. And while i agree that there are better books out there for general how to grow, Dru's books main idea is amazing, which is his advanced scrog technique. IMHO, theres no better way to get more yield per plant then scrog, and his idea would make anyone's scrog grow heavier.
