k is for per thousand lumens , u need as many as u can get, a 400 watt hps is about 50/60k lumens so3k is somewhat short of a decent amount of light, if ur gonna make the effort u need a good light source i.e 400/600 watt hps and a ballast to run it cost roughly £100 but its a must for good results !

shit thanks man that really helps:) whats the lowest amount of lumens i can have but still get a niice or decent result?

Stupid question bro... less lumes = poor results.

more lumens = more results..

if heat is a problem.. look into cooltube setups. check out my signature on my setup for ideas.. ive explained my setup.. you sound new to this so take a look.. i spent like $1300 in total for my whole setup top to bottom.

The K is actually the Kelvin rating, which pretty much is the color of the light. 3000 is more of a yellow color, where 6500k is more of white/blueish color when illuminated.
You want somewhere around 6500k while vegging your plant. Buy some 6500k CFL bulbs.

shut the fuck up you fucking loser i'm asking a normal question obviously i'm new to this. what you expect me to start asking next level questions right off the bat fuck you and your plants i hope they burn and you get cought bitch learn how to tlk to people.
