I need some help

I understand that growing in a tank is really really stupid, but i think i found a way. I planted 6 seeds in a 20 gallon tank( dont ask how it works) in seperate planters. I intend on moving them to a different type of set up but for a few weeks while i get everything sorted out i want to keep them in there. I set up a drainage system. I elevated the planters and poked holes in cups to drain out excess water which is leaked to the bottom of the tank. i than drilled a hole in the side of the tank so water would leak out into a milk carton below the table, which i have this 20 gallon lizzard tank set up on. The main reason i have this set up is because i wish to cover up the smell and i cant afford a carbon filter. I however did invest in a top to the tank a while ago that has holes at the top and allows air to circulate. There is also a fan blowing air directly at my set up. The light is also located at the top of the tank. Tell me what i can do to improve this set up, and in a few weeks when my plants are biger and i have sexed them, what type of set up should i use. For cheap odor control use Fabreeze or those scented thingies you throw in the dryer. Ona gel works as well for odor control for small grows.

For lights, get the cheapest HID lights you can find which works with MH and HPS lights.
