This is my first time trying to grow. It has been going pretty well and has been a fun experience. My plants have been healthy so far. However the other day, i noticed the very tips of the top leaves have turned a very dark brown. I was wondering if this is normal or if I have to do something. My plants are being grown outside in Florida. I'm using a miracle grow water soluable nutrient mix on my plants. Could someone also please tell me the sex of my plant. I can't take any better of pictures right now because my camera is broken and I had to use my phone. Sorry. Please help me. Many thx.

I'm just another newb, so there will probably some more knowledgeable suggestions. Sounds like nute burn, too much nitrogen probably. Flushing with straight water is the usual treatment.

I replied because I used to visit a relative in englewood, used to do some surf casting there. If this is the same englewood that i've visited.

Thats cool. I live in Englewood florida. Its about an hour south of Tampa. Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a try.

Since you are going to try this, let me add 1 caution. Flush 1st, but you will need to refertilize at a lower rate of nutes. Its possible to get too little nutes after flushing which causes different problems. I'm still trying to get this down right myself.

best thing to do is use a nut at 1/4 strength and flush till the volume of your container in water passes through. You'll replace light nuts with something in your soil that's too heavy at the moment. Better than replacing the too much, with nothing. it would take longer for your plant to recover, but wouldn't be harmful.

Hey guys, I just flushed my plants today using a tenth of the amount of nutrients I've been using. I'll keep posting to let you guys know what happens. Thanks for all the advice.
