yeah this friggen bathroom exhaust fan sux. i smoked a butt on both sides of the door and the smoke got sucked in on both sides of it. so idk what to do. i bet those blowers make mad noise. u know. so what i did was i had th ehole in the top of the door from the bathroom exhauset fan i tried, so i just put a fan on the shelf in the closet blowing out of the hole. it seems to be blowing air out. who knows if its gonna bring the temp down. i have an intake hole in the bottom with a fan blowing in. soo well see what happens.

Hey can you post some pics of what you got going on right now. I wanna see because I do want to help you. I don't want to say I told you so but that's why I said do it right the first time to avoid further headaches.

I can only speak about my blowers but they are not as loud as you would think. My grow room is in a closet, in my bedroom. I just put some foam weather stripping around my door jam so when the door closes it's totally sealed and light tight. I put a piece of whether strip on the bottom of the door to block light as well and it also acts like a sound barrier. Plus I did the same thing to my bedroom door and you can't hear a thing. People have to walk right past my bedroom to use the bathroom and not once has anybody said anything about it.

Hey I'm no expert on the subject. Your thread just caught my eye because we have a similar setup as far as grow space. why don't you stop by my journal and look it over. It explains everything your going through right now and how I fixed it with a little help from another member. Plus I got lots of pictures to explain the things I've done. The link is in my Sig just click it.

In the mean time post some pics I wanna see the size holes you cut and fan placements and can you tell me the CFM (cubic feet per minute) rating on them fans you bought because that's very important. We'll get this figured out.

What are your temps now with those two fans and what size are those holes? Man that really sucks your door is hollow. If you removed that shelf you would get better air flow because when the door is closed its mainly pulling air from above the shelf and it only has a few inches between the door and the shelf for heat to escape.

Is it possible for you to remove the shelf and cut two holes in the ceiling and mount those fans up top exhausting into the attic? If that's possible then I would suggest covering the top hole on the door with gray tape or something. Then I would carefully cut three more holes evenly across the bottom for a total of four holes . Then you can find something for a filter/light block to put over the holes. Then I would consider sealing your door with foam tape and put weatherstripping across the bottom of the door. Even after all of that it still may not be enough because those fans may not pull enough to properly ventilate your grow space. However I do believe it will cool better than the way you have it now.

The reason for this is because when you do decide to go into flower those fans are not gonna work because they will let way to much light in and you don't want any light in there during the night cycle or they might turn hermaphrodite on you. This happens when the plant becomes stressed and it will start to grow male parts.

If you could afford it I would get one of the fans I showed you and mount it up top and that would be problem solved. Although you might have a problem mounting it because you would have to have something to bolt it to besides the drywall.

All I can do is give you some suggestions the rest is all up to you my friend.

peace.

here are some updated pics of the harvest of four of my soil plants. they were in 1.5 gallon pots in my closet. most of the time under cfls. the last three weeks of flowering they were under a 400 watt hps. something happened where i had to harvest. i would have grown them about one more week longer. but they turned out pretty good for my first ghrow and harvest. what do you guys think. i still have my hydro setup going though. i feel that they have about two more weeks to go.(according to trichomes. 30x microscope). hopefully these dnt get messed up by riu,. it seems they screw all my photos up

How do you like that emilys garden kit? I was thinking about getting one. They arent very pricey and they look good as far as pots not being to close togeather. How have they worked out for you? Did u notice they grew faster then the soil ones?

yeah the emilys garden was good for beginners but the pots are way to close together. i could only use four of them instead of the six. they force you to strecth your plants because there is no room for them to get bushy. i startd to build and make my own emily garden setups that i sell on ebay. but with four pots instead of six. they are the exact same thing but with four six-inch pots instead of six six-inch pots. this gives you more room for growth. let me know if u are interested in buyin one. i sell them on ebay. but they are good. The emily's garden. i justr wish they were either a little bigger or only had four pots. they would work so much better.
