I NEED HELP CHOOSING NUTRIENTS!!

For an unexperienced grower i have a pretty hard time choosing which nutrients to give my plants, i have plenty of time to choose, since my plants are still in the seedling stage, but i like to get prepared in advance. I want help on figuring out good nutrients i could feed my plants to make them grow strong, big and obviously have a high yield, for a good price as well. Initially i was thinking on purchasing the fox farm fertilizers but i figured asking to see if there are more better options. I would also like to know if there are any options for good plant bug protector, since i will be growing outside. Thank you! (also i am planting 2 white widow autoflower plants, i am using fox farm ocean soil, and i am using tap water to water my plants)

i prefer jack's dry salts myself, don't like paying for bottles 99% full of tap water.
not sure if it's still going on, but a new advertiser has been giving away free bags of their nutes, a lot of people are liking it i guess, it's called megacrop, look in the advertisers thread and you can find it.
w/e you pick, try to keep it simple, no more than three bottles for the whole system, all the extras are usually useless, just ways to get you to buy more crap.
try to get something fairly balanced for veg, 10-10-10 works, 15-10-10 works. when you go to flower, i like something closer to 10-15-30.
i only use a high P booster a couple of times, towards the end of flower. actually, when i see them do their swell, i give them a dose or two of 10-30-20 booster. P is a ripening agent, makes things harden up towards the end, doesn't do a lot before then.

You just asked the most controversial question that you could ask on this forum . . . I used Advanced Nutrients. If you are using ocean forest soil, you will not have to fertilizer your plants for about 3-4 weeks due to fertilizer in the soil. Think tomatoes when you think bug killers. If it is considered safe for vegetables, it is probably safe to smoke. I will be giving Jack's fertilizer a try on my next grow. Tons of growers rave about their results with it.

Had good experience with Jacks.. Great experience with MegaCrop... Started with AN and got decent results but felt like an idiot buying a bunch of expensive ass bottles of liquid nutrients with cartoon labels..

Thank you so much for your suggestions! i do believe that all those extra nutrients aren’t really necessary, i would like to keep it simple, especially since i’m a beginner grower, and i will definitely like to try the free nutrients, i’ve heard off mega crop so it maybe isn’t a bad idea to consider, thank you!

I’ll keep the simple for the most part, good thing i do have that type of soil too then, i do have a question about it though, when you say i will not need to use fertilizer for about 3-4 weeks, that’s 3-4 weeks starting from the seedling stage correct?

From the point you transplant into the soil. The plant will use up all the ocean forest nutes in 30 days under optimal lighting and watering conditions. Contrary to popular believe, all bags of ocean forest soil are NOT THE SAME. some bags have quite a bit more nutrients in them than others. Overall it is decent bagged soil, probably better brands out there.

+1 for mega crop. I switched over from Nectar for the Gods about a month ago, and My plants are just happy green growing machines. I am getting the exact same results so far, and dont have to spend an hour watering each time, lol. I am about halfway through my sample pack, its a no brainer that I'm gonna get the 20 whatever pounds for 50 bucks.
Where could i get megacrop? Like roger said earlier in a post, there is a way of getting it for free? I don’t mind paying but it could be nice, especially to test it out. I heard of it but i don’t know much. i also do know that other fertilizer company’s have different “nutrient packs” which brings all sorts of nutrients, and it can get overwhelming and confusing at times for beginners like me. mega crop as you mentioned only is one ingridient right, meaning one bag/bottle and that’s it, all i have to do is measure, mix and water (which should be simple) but that’s it correct? Because if that’s the case, i definitely want to know where to get some lol.

Okay, yeah that makes sense, andd also I can see that, i understand some bags may have more nutrients than others, i will take that into consideration when i first start feeding my plants. thank you!

I'd just start with a smaller dose of nutes a week or two in. I generally mix soils, usually something dense and dirty with something light and airey, and I always feed early. Just start light and you'll be fine.

just go to their website. google megacrop. one of the options, i think 230 gram? is free. You just pay 3 or so bucks for shipping.
Okay i will! and 230 grams, would you consider that enough for 2 plants? Like i said i’m new to this and my apologies for asking somewhat dumb questions lol.

For the smaller dose, do you recommend half of the recommended dose said on the bag/bottle?

With Mega Crop you can start them at 4 grams per gallon then move them up to 5 grams per gallon in a couple of weeks. I'm currently feeding mine 6 grams per gallon and don't see any signs of toxicity or burn. It's designed for cannabis so use it at the full strength they tell you. They have a feeding chart on their website.
