Ok, so I've done pretty good research and I still am not sure what to do. It's my first real go at this so please understand any common knowledge gaps I have. I'll start by explaining my set up, and then explaining the problem.
4 CFL 4' bulbs 224w
6'X3' about 3' high.
Bubblicious by nirvana
4 gallon pot
R.o. Water at 7ppm
Watering with 100-120 ppm cal-mag 300-400 ppm bio thrive 4.3.3
In soil

The problem. Pics included
The leaves are getting rust colored spots and dying off. At one point it was just the lower fan leaves but is slowly moving up. There is also a splotchy yellowing on other leaves that's hard to get a picture of. All of this along with purpling at the branch nodes.. I am treating it like lockout and flushing. So, I image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg have just flushed the medium with p.h. Balanced water and I'm hoping for the best. Any advice would be monumental help!
Thanks,
Bobbyb

The lower fans look like they might be showing a zinc deficiency to me.

Personally i'd pull them off and wait for the results of your flush. Other soil growers may be able to chime in and help with a more long term solution to this problem as i grow in DWC my knowledge of soil is limited.

Id say your feeding too much. Id dial back the calmag a bit, since the plants small. I feed large plants what your feeding a small plant worth of calmag. Also, are you feeding every watering? If you are stop that. If your in soil you dont have to feed every watering. It doesnt look that bad yet.

No, not feeding every watering. It's about 2 feet tall, is that still too small for that much calmag?

Hi there! If i can help i will. i have a few soil grows under my belt goodsir and ive screwed a few up as well by being overzealous or lazy i digress..........but im here to help ya brother. Your soil composition? Secondly i would like you to know i think all and all you have done verywell for yourself so far! That being said your going with reg water and using that will help. I prefer basic happy frog as a base or a sunshine mix #4 with added amendments. I'd also rec if you can to grab some jack's 20-20-20
View attachment 3663186 From what i can see you noticed it early and hopefully can reverse this with ease at this point.
I'm using happy frog with a small amount of peat and pearlite. I didn't put any amendments in it as I mix my nutes in with the water. Thanks!
