Hmm, a bit off topic, but a great question, all the same.
Some common ways of establishing credit are a car loan. My 1st loan was to purchase a living room set.
You might also try a secured credit card, where your credit limit is matched by your deposit at the bank. Than as you make timely payments, you build a worthy credit reputation.

Simply opening a checking account and getting a debit card with the visa logo, or master card logo, may help.
I hope this helps you.
Peace

go to mall and get a gift card. I know they have them around christmas.
You can give them as gifts. They are prepaid credit cards usually visa or master card.
No info required as I recall. If there is you do not have to give real name.
The more I think about it I think you can get these at some gas stations.

Get a pay pal account and get the PAY PAL Master Card linked to your account. You can only spend what you have but its still a MC. Otherwise Orchard Bank or Providian Bank might rip you off for a card. (Interest is not the greatest but beggars can't be choosers right)

Go to a gas station or somewhere of the like and buy a prepaid Visa or MasterCard. Usually they charge you a couple of dollars to load them, but after that, it's almost like a gift card that you can use anywhere.

If you have ever had a cell phone, utillity such as gas or electricity, home phone, rented an apartment or home, then you are establishing credit. When crediters pull up your credit bureau, it tells them on each of these accounts how many times you have been billed, how many times you have been 30 days late, 60 days late, etc. It tells them if it has been to collections. If you never paid. If you have tax leins. In short, they see alot of stuff. So when you do start establishing credit make sure you pay your bills and pay them on time or it will come back to bite you in the ass. If you want a credit card to buy stuff online, some banks will give you a pre paid credit card. It works like a phone card. You go to the bank and give them money and they put that balance on the card. Some people use these when shopping online because they fear getting thier credit card information stolen in cyberspace. So instead of getting a card with a $50,000 limit stolen online they use a prepaid card with $500 on it. Good luck.

what link?

there may be a reason i don't have credit. i don't think i really want it. just for a house but other than that i can save up. i was taught that you have to earn it FIRST. then you get rewarded. credit is for people who can't save money. my buddy has major credit. cars, home, stores, ....... all he does is whine about being broke. he has everything but he doesn't appreciate it because he doesn't own it. it's a burden for him to be happy. me on the other hand saved, bought a notch lower with cash and am smilimg all day buying him coffee. nee ner nee ner.

I said this thinking that you meant that you wanted a card to buy stuff online.

i wont even except a front from my connect. dont have a bank account. buy my cars used. month to month cell plan (metro pcs) keep my cash spent. ha! take that...lol cash makes this world go round. not electronic numbers to symbolize what you HAD! as soon as i can quit this job i will be one up on the man, um man! but if youuu still want a cc then buy a car through a credit union, put alot of money down so you have low payments.

credit is for people who dont have money. it IS the american way to spend more then you make, a cc is just another way for someone else to get rich on the stupidity of the general public.

Credit cards can also be awesome spending tools. My parents have had Visa cards for as long as I can remember, and my dad has never missed a payment.

This has allowed him to keep his money for up to a month after he actually spends it. Add that up for 20+ years and you are talking about some serious interest.

Not to mention 10 million Visa miles to fly everywhere for free.

Credit cards can be incredible tools to manage and simplify one's life. However, as with every financial endeavor, they can be a disaster if you are not responsible.

conclusion; credit cards can be good when used, not abused. i dont suggest relying on them 100% though, cash is still always good to have around... and when thats no good, cannabis seeds! "...and the man with the most seeds will be the wealthiest!" bring back the barter system! lol
