The molex wire connectors are built into the pucks. So, for a simple series circuit, what you would need is the driver, 2 wago wire connectors, and the 2 pucks.
You would wire the positive lead on the driver to a wago, and then from the wago to the positive terminal on the molex connector of the first puck.
then you would wire from the negative terminal on that puck, to the positive terminal on the 2nd puck.
then you would wire from the negative terminal on the 2nd puck, to a wago, which would connect to the negative lead from the driver, closing the circuit.


i watched this video and growmau5's other videos about 3-4 times each before i fully understood a lot of these concepts. i had no real understanding of circuits or electricity when i started my DIY lights. there are no stupid questions. just keep doing your research and it will click.

Thanks man, i'm really not trying to make anyone upset. Just curious but would the 100w pucks be the same as the chips tho? I really can't find much info on these logic pucks. I think they're still too new maybe?

yeah you would wire them the exact same. some of the newer cobs (i.e. gen 7 vero 29SE) have "poke-in connectivity" similar to the Chilled pucks and the HLG quantum boards. no soldering is required with any of these builds.

Shit this really helped me out man, I really appreciate it. One last thing, i'm assuming that the ChilLed Logic Puck and the GrowMau ChilLed Puck are the same right? They look exactly the same but are labeled differently. I'm just confused because they're supposed to be direct competitors but seem to be selling to same product? I could be wrong and one could be superior to the other?

yeah theyre the same. growmau5 works with chilled and they design these pucks together. rapid just sells them.

Save yourself some money. Chilled are overpriced and over engineered especially for a noob. Just get some white cobs in a kit or some strips and drivers and get growing. Its pretty funny, I remember when all these cats who have all these companies now were noobs themselves, it wasn't that long ago.

Does the added spectrum of Chilled lights do much for the quality or yield? They sell it really good on their website but I don't know whats really true or whats being blown up for marketing purposes. I'm currently kinda torn between the strips and the QB's, just don't know which is better or cheaper.

Honestly, any of those lights are going to work just fine. Some people swear by the added reds and shit like that but I am not one of those people. White cobs or white strips are already full enough spectrum for most people. It is usually the data sheet nerds that get hard ons for those little tweaks. Lighting is important mostly in terms of having enough, not tiny tweaks to the spectrum. Get a shitload of light for the cheapest possible price and get growing.

Strips will be cheaper than QBs but a little more work to build the lights. Personally I like cobs because you dont need to be so fussy with having a perfectly even canopy.

what is your grow space again? i get nice results from vero29C @ 100w each. you can check em out in my grow journal. those are what i usually recommend. i dont use any added red or change the spectrum, just have leds with 3000k90cri and 3500k90cri.

you can get these cobs with SE poke in connectivity so you wouldnt have to solder

My veg tent will be 2x2x4 and my flower area is in my closet. Its exactly 2x8x8. I'm beginning to think this whole added spectrum thing is over-hyped. Do the QB's, Strips, and Cobs all give off the same amount of heat?

well 2x2x4 is small, so you don't need a lot of light. and you have a major height restriction at only 4 feet.

yes. they all give off lots of heat. the heat they give off will depend on the current you run through them. youre gonna need to run over 600w in that closet. so you best have some good ventilation.

Sounds good. I was thinking about splitting the closet into 2 areas for now. I could do it with some styrofoam insulation sheets and mylar sheets? Just tape it up or somethin.

Also, is there a way to dampen the fan noise? I wrapped the whole thing with blankets and its still pretty noisy. I might put the ducting back into the closet and close it up but it gets to around 85 degrees in there.

Buy a fan speed controller and run it slower. Buy a bigger fan and run it even slower. thats what i do. they make "stealth fans" but theyre pricey i've never had one. check em out though. i dunno if i would wrap a towel around it. maybe build a well insulated box around it and fill it with some kind of sound insulation?

Hm well I have an A/C unit built into my room. Maybe I can leave one side of the closet open and blow cold air into the closet? Or would it be better to blow the hot air out? I could just buy a tower fan if I did it this way. And yea the whole blanket thing is definitely a safety hazard. The noise was just driving me crazy lol.

youre gonna need both. cool air intake from your room into the closet, pref at ground level, and a hot air exhaust out of the closet, preferably as high as possible, far away from the intake. you will need an oscillating fan in there as well.

I vegetate in a 2x2x4 and get away with only 35w of Samsung strips. I don't want my plants to veg fast because they're really just there to pluck clones every few months but even with just 35w they grow pretty darn quickly and I honestly can almost ignore them which is exactly what I wanted. Its tucked in a closet and cooling is more than adequate with a small clip fan laying on top of the exhaust port of the tent's roof. 100w and I'm sure I'd need a proper cooling system. What I'm saying is, you can definitely get away with a smaller lamp (HLG-65 is even more than enough) and have a successful veg tent at 2x2x4.

85 degrees should be perfect for QB or COB
