move it closer.....
i dont need to , its only for clones waiting to root, and potted clones that stay for 7 days only, then go under a 250w mh for 10 days then they hit my flower room =) only moderate levels of light needed at this stage..... thanks for looking tho , i just wanted to share cheap products i have found as i have an extra closet now and i no people are feeling the pinch this year, cheap bits minimal electric, i have aquired lots of stuff from info on this site, just trying to give some back...peace =)

nice set up bloomfields.... i want to start my own setup as well but im a bit paranoid about making my elec. bills going up to high! what lights do you use throughout the whole process and how much would you say it costs you a month on electric. cheers

£1 30w bulbs from Morrison's?!

Really?

I'll check that out.. Thanks!! What spectrum is yours, just out of interest?

As for the rest of the stuff, it's all pretty cheap from a market or electrical store anyway. Never, ever shop at B&Q if you're looking for bargains - the place is a complete rip off for just about everything. £5 for three tiny brass hooks, or £10+ for a piece of tumble dryer ducting; takes the piss. I always walk in hoping to buy something, then walk out empty-handed thinking they're trying to swindle me.

Nice little setup btw. Oh, and +rep for the handy info' :D

nice 1 thanx for the hit :) yeah i had to get the lamp from B&Q because the 100w from morrisons is not the standard size so i bought the lamp and used the shade around the house and just used the switch , wires and lamp holder , if you notice the middle 1 has no clip ....
i thought the 3£ lamp holders with clips are a steal at that price ive seen them at 7.50 in wilkos........
thanks for your comments dude and ive hit ya back ....(Y)

Hiya Buddha, the cfls in the pic are real cheap to run , i also use a switchable 250w mh/hps and a 600whps, the 250w runs 18 hours/day and the 600w 12/day....
i have my metre on a key(good move so you can calculate what you spend) and i put a steady 30/week on it.... be advised that some companys still employ a high low off peak kinda set up worth looking into ....
also worth bearing in mind i was spending around 40/week with my dealer, but i have not had to buy any now for 4 years,
well thats a lie i just moved house so had to restart with just my cuttings , but yeah you get the picture,
good luck my friend =)

what is a switchable? is that the same as a duel spectrum? also wont using a 250w and a 600w hps give off too much heat? reason why I ask is because I heard that the police can detect high amount of heat with theramal imaging equip. From you past grows how would you rate the quality (in taste and potency) when using 250w and 600w lights? As i said i am really new to this all and want as much advice as possible but also want to keep it cheap and discreet!! thnaks again :weed:

ok,
switchable ballast means that my 250w ballast can take a metal halide bulb or a high pressure sodium bulb , the first gives off light more in the blue spectrum, ideal for the vegative stage , the 2nd gives off more orange/red light, ideal for the flowering stage .....
i run 3 closets , 1st , for clones and newly planted(rooted clones), with cfls(in pics)
2nd closet is for vegging stage , 250w metal halide
3rd closet for flowering 600w hps,

you would need to be packing at least 2000w plus for the police to even get a sniff and i grow in my loft , alot of the scaremongery out there is properganda by the police to stop you trying , if your discreet and keep your mouth stum....you can grow undetected for as long as you choose,
remember we all like to brag and show off what we have achieved,
but,
if you can not keep your own secret , do not expect any1 else to , ppl like to talk and feel important !!!!

stick to that you will be right..........
