Been breeding, showing & raising dogs for working on 30 years now (as long as ive been alive lol..), been a raw feeder for the last 5 years.
While i will admit, ive never used salmon as a staple diet (feeding the amount of dogs i own would cost a small fortune),but do give salmon oil regularly.

I have however been feeding CA whole sardines (the large kind from the bait stores, not canned) along with chicken backs, liver & tripe for the past 6 years. My animals have never looked better than they do when fed this diet, i have 10 year old males that have higher sperm counts than my younger dogs from the past.

I dont mean freezing overnight either...i mean deep freezing, 2 weeks minimum. If turned whole dead chickens into ice cubes....lol

Point being, of all the time ive fed raw, ive never run into an issue of parasites. & yes regular worming of your animals is essential, no matter what you feed as food is not the only source of parasites.

Raw is more biologically appropriate for canines....& i will say store bought (or home raised) meat source is gonna be safer than anything wild caught....because blood born pathogens are something else in itself.

Hey my blue pit used to get skin problems also from the food. I switched over diamond natural and his problem went away and he has a smoother coat and got thicker. Really good for the price under $1 a lb. I get the chicken or lamb. Check out the ingredient list there are even probiotics in it.

Yeah diamond isbt bad. Its also a good bang for your buck feed like the whole earth farms. You can get kirkland signature from sams club which is identical formulas in a 50 lb bag.

totally understood...while we have a bowl of kibble on hand that when emptied is filled again our dog gets at least one full raw meal a day which could be either, chicken, kangaroo meat or rabbit meat etc. Also she gets chicken carcasses, rabbit carcasses, chicken wings etc and these are her in between meals not classed as a meal.shes a real well fed dog and knows it shes always happy :)
