I know this is probly a stupid question.....

I was just wondering......I know that 12/12 is the light cycle used to flower, but would a 14/14 hurt or help resin production??? Would the plant be confused and stop producing resin or would it use that energy to produce more??? Just a thought

it wouldn't do anything for tric production imo.. some plants flower just fine under shorter dark periods other then 12 hours...

people have just used 12 / 12 because it's basically the easiest of the bunch, and works well for all strains...

some growers will in fact extend the dark period saying the plants will finish a bit faster, but i have always stuck to 12 / 12..

I dont use a timer

I dont plan on changing my 12/12, I was just curious

What brought this question up is, I was watching a grow vid on youtube, and the guy said for the last two days of his grow he keeps his plants in complete darkness for max resin production.

i keep my plants in the dark for the last 3 days... it not only helps increase thc production but it also gets a nice headstart on breaking down the chlorophyll.

I would just leave it s it is. My friends put theirs in darkness for 48 hrs b4 cutting. They say it helps, I don't do this myself.
