I just got 10 grand from my parents

My mom is having brain surgery tomorrow to clear up an infection that was left after the removal of a tumor, it is rather minor surgery compared to her early one and she should be completely fine. But, tonight she came over to my place and said that she and my dad were so sorry about how the miss treated me as a kid and she just wants things to be okay between us, and I was feeling bad that she was so worried about this with such an important thing tomorrow for her, and then she was like your father and I have put $10,000 in your bank account, to just help you out a little. I told her it wasn't necessary and that I've loved them both very much, and that everyone makes mistakes, but she said no keep the money, you could use it much more then us. So, everyone say a quick prayer for my mother tonight because she is truly a wonderful woman

IMO get a mid range priced piece and name it in your mothers honor...

Thanks much for all the thoughts, I truly appreciate it. Her surgery is finished the infection was worst then they hoped so they had to remove a piece of her skull that was infected itself and then she'll go back in for surgery in 6 months, so around christmas, where they'll replace the missing piece. She is doing fine otherwise and according to the doctors the surgery was a success, of course we won't be 100% sure until a little bit later on

now about the money when your mum is feeling better take her on holiday and the rest save the cash

i like that idea...to take your mom on a holiday. or even if you just got her something really special, heartfelt, she'd probably appreciate that :D

she is taking steps to repair your relationship take time to meet them1/2 way, they are the only biological parents you will ever have

i had a couple years i didn't talk to mine i will never get those years back

I'm definitely trying to make things work between us as well, and quite frankly I was really surprised by this gift because things have been going well between us. I think she's just recently realized how much a few of their decisions for me as I was growing up were wrong, and she just wants me to know how sorry she is about it. I'm going to make sure that we keep a good relationship because I do care a lot about them both. As far as an update on my mom I went to see her and she is doing really well she is fully conscious and talking and making jokes which is just great

is she okay? its been a day im just curious to see how she made it alright, as for the money dont be stupid with it , put it to good use i know i could really use 10 grand right now
