So due to crazy electric bills I need to switch to all fluorescent lighting, however I don't want my 400w hps just sitting around collecting dust...so if anyone has a t5 fixture they wanna trade let me know

How crazy could your electric be with just a 400? Are you worried about someone noticing, or are you worried about keeping it paid? Only reason I ask is because it only costs me like 30$ a month to run a 400 mh, I wouldn't think T5s would be much cheaper than that.

Well I have a partner who is actually the one who gets the bill....since we started his bill has gone up around 200 a month...we gone back and forth on what caused the jump...I don't think its the light but im fighting a losing battle...so not exactly something really want to do but I will in the interest of keeping my grow going

I appreciate the advice...like I said I don't want to change out...so one last push to save the hps lol

lol show him the difference in cost to run (15$? cheaper for the t5?) vs the potential yield. 400 watt hps @ .6 gpw is over a half lb, whereas you are going to have alot harder time pulling 1/2 lbs off of T5s even if you were running the same wattage.

So I think I was just in the middle of him and his wife having a disagreement lol...I should have just talked to her to begin with as it seems she's been running a space heater in one room of their house that I know is 1400w...so gonna have her leave it off for a month so I have some proof its not the light

i have 2 400w and they don't come close to using as much power as other necessary things in the house...lol.

If she was using a space heater she was probably also cranking the heat in the rest of the house as well causing the bill to sky rocket. I run a 400 hps and 184w of cfls and have never had an electric bill over 200.
