My feeling for the pro studies is that there are many influences on plant growth and if controlled side by side comparisons are not done then the results are inconclusive. As MJ growers in the Pro studies had not compared their defoliated plants to non defoliated plants (and I looked long and hard to find experiments that included both) there can't be any real basis for saying defoliation works however the interesting studies done on food crops makes me curious because their studies included both defoliated and non defoliated plants. Decide for yourself.
About what the hell were they doing if not comparing it to untouched plants? What else would define it a success, a working method, than having an improved yield COMPARED to what's produced with "regular" plant care.
What possibly was the point?

Other than that, the flower pictures in the Pro thread are quite awesome...

Some good reading.

People Defoliation isn't for everyone. If you don't agree thats fine but your arguments are pointless as "we" who have tried have seen the proof and thats enough for us.

If you grew your plants in shit and used piss for nutes I would not judge you and I would watch the grow with anticipation.

Be open minded and don't judge until you have tried it yourself.

BTW Nebula Haze own's growweedeasy.*om and has extensive experience with this plant and I would listen to her before I would listen to a mod who has never even tried this practice. Some people think pretty big of themselves and it just shows how ignorant they really are.

mmm... If you could make hash out of supercropped leafs... it's a shame... [that it's in veg]

The Only time it is a good idea to do that is if the fan leaves are shading bud sites, and even then defoliation should be minimal. How is the plant supposed to photosynthesize if you remove the leaves? Her is our girl, fan Leaves and all. Used a single 67w cfl, 12/12 from seed ;-)_~
your plant looks great and its flowered under a 67w cfl wow, defoliation not going to work very well for you

but I defoliation my plants in a way to level the canopy and get some really high yielding plants
the plant I stripped of the leaves was just a test I did to see if I could pull her round and pull a large yield, now everyone that reads this know it can be done

but should only be tried with an open mined and a few crops under there belt

Well stickybuds* I'm done hijacking your thread. All that needed to be said is said. We will amaze the unbelievers in time. Until then bro good luck.

When I get a few grows/strains under my belt I will definitely be trying this method ... Nothing wrong with a good experiment!

It also makes be wonder if this decreases
vertical growth and strengthens the plant to support that weight.
choice any main shoot, cut all the fan leaves in half on the top 6" (first 2 days in flower) and the shoot will reduce the stretch by as much 60% and the nodes will be a lot closer, this can give you some very large cola's :)

and makes the shoot a lot stronger

Much of the food consumed today is grown with shit and piss. Its actually a wonderful cycle. Chuckle chuckle, bet your nutes have shit and piss in them!

Popcorn you've been growing for 10 years only to find out recently that butchering your plant in flower will and has caused hermie for YOU. You specifically said you wouldn't do it again, sounds to me like yourdoingitallwrongbro and are still all chapped that your fail in defoliation only turned your perfectly fine sinsemilla crop into a bunch of leafy seeded mids.

All those pictures you guys post of these plants that have been "defoliated" during flower only causes the buds sugar leaves to stretch ending with a higher leaf to calyx ratio. Clearly you have no idea what a finished plant should look like. Enjoy smoking your mids
you would like to see some plants defoliated in flower, only few days in flower but here you go

before defoliated my plants in flower

after defoliated my plants in flower (top view and side view )

after canopy 1.jpg after under screen 1.jpg

and the harvest (about 8 weeks later )

Can you all just stop being ignorant?
Don't look at numbers. Look at the fucking fact, which is, when overwinterizing and all leaves fell off, my peppers grew 2 for every fallen.
It wouldn't even be that bad if you just resisted being assholes.

Have you not seen the fkn trees drop all their fkn leaves in the autumn? Are you totally dumb?
that is a deciduous tree, not a annual.... wake the fuck up
