I have an empty room, any recommendations?

Hello all at ROLLITUP! This is my first post. I have a 12x12 foot empty room and just received my medcard recommendation through MediCann. I have grown several times in soil outdoors but I think it's time to get my feet wet with the hydro.

The location is near 100% safe, and I am stoked that the landlord (who I know personally) gave me the go ahead.

So for the time, effort, money what is best?
basic soil setup?
ebb and flow?
DWC?

Starting off with two 400w hps and 12 clones. If I get the system down, the next grow will be as big as the room....or my wallet.
Any ideas or comments?

I'd go with soil indoors as well for a few reasons, you're comfortable growing in soil, soil can give stunning results inside or out, it will cost you a lot less money to get set up. By the way congrats on the medcard and the cool landlord.

Thanks man. That's probably what I'll do to begin with.

Soil is tried and proven but I want a little more control over the soil's ph, tds etc so I may do a soiless soil with a drip system.

any thoughts?

Get the coco. Comes in a hard block you soak to break it up. Its like soil without being soil. No nutes in it.

Coco coir sounds like a good medium for what i'm doing.

I have a $1000 budget and no more than 12 plants.

Right now temps are little high indoors 85f max w/out a/c. The room has one window and I have a bitchn Daiwoo A/C unit.

I am worried about air input though. I cannot cut into the ceiling to run ventilation. I probably should not have air intake/outtake through the same window so I'm thinking about just using the air in the room with a heppa filter or something.
I also have a 3 foot high CO2 tank. I still need a reg.

I would agree with sticking to soil for now. Do you grow mostly for personal use or profit? If its all about the profit then hydro could yeild you more if done right. I grow for myself only, sell nothing, and I prefer soil. I use foxfarm ocean forrest and nutes and have great results, great enough to keep me away from hydro even though hydro still interest me greatly.

soil is the cheaper way to go most def I have had great results with GH flora nova in soil then you have more money for lights $$$$$$ i'd say at least 1k watter but eh that is me you still have to buy fans and ducting to so spend wisely. ps since your new medical status I would most def get clones from the club I pay $12 a piece for mine .... good luck and happy grow

Cool. Coco it is with hand water for my first indoor.

A local guy is selling a Hortilux 1kw hps with everything for $200-sounds like a good deal. It is new in box.

Should this be enough cover 12 plants? I figure during the flower phase my energy bill would only be 60-80 bucks more/month -within an acceptable range.

So:
$200 light
$50 soil
$80 nutes
$60 CO2 reg.
$350 home made grow tent, venting, timers
$150 misc equip

$590 total. these numbers reasonable?

Thanks for all the support!

well they say that 1k watts is good for 4x4 area so if you keep them smaller you should fit em all in there as far as your numbers always be ready to spend more but you should get by

You may want to take a few minutes and check out B thc+ r&d's journal. Sounds like your space is similar, lights etc. He is pulling a pound every 8 weeks. VV:blsmoke:

In that case you may want to take a look at Al B Fucts Journal, Get A Harvest every two weeks. Do you have a plant count or weight limit to your mmj ?? VV

This is the deal. Where I am I can have 6 veg and 6 flowering at one time.
My roomate is getting her medcard also which gives us a total of 12 veg and 12 flowering.

I hope to harvest once a month.

The weight limit is 8 oz dry (per person) so 16oz altogether.

That would work, DirtBagBrian has been doing that for like five years now, grow monster size plants because of the 'count' limits. VV
