It would just condense as a liquid on the inside of the can and you do not want to drink any amount of liquid smoke. at least not hickory.

How would it condence to liquid? It's not steam. I doubt there is any kind of moisture in there. It would probly eventually end up less smoke and more resin on the inside of the can. As for testing it, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to cut the can open and scrape the resin that's bound to have built up on the inside.
By the way, pop is the best.

it still wouldn't become a liquid. the water might condense, and combine with some of the smoke to create some god-awful concoction, but the smoke itself, which is solid particles suspended in hot air would not condense to a liquid.
