So i am on my 1st grow and trying to figure out what ill do for my 2nd differently

i am wondering if co2 is better than the fresh air i have being brought in from outside via 8" vortex fan?

if it is how much better?

how does co2 work does it have to be certain temps? ( i have to use air conditioner and heater most times also i use a dehumidifier)

any other stuff you may know aboutt it would be greatly appriciated TY +rep for help TY :)kiss-ass

For the small time grower, Co2 isn't really that cost efficient for the gains that you will make, plenty of Co2 is available in the outside air if you have a constant supply of it.

I pretty much agree...however: define "small time grower"
If small time grower= small budget grower...yes, there are many things to improve b4 adding co2
On the other hand, I live in a "12 plant" State..which isn't alot of plants considering some in veg and some in flower. Flowering 6 plants at at time, co2 has given me sizable gains. But I also run 2 x 600 lighting, air, heat , humidity control, and a sealed room...investing in co2 without high light (min 50 watts per sq ft...or around 6,000 or better lumens per sq. ft) , and complete control of temps and humidity, co2 won't show much improvement, if any.

Get top notch lighting and environmental controls first...In my opinion, Co2 should be the last thing someone adds...

hi motoxmom u can buy small bucket systems with microbes that breakdown organic matter in the bucket and release CO2 as a byproduct. they're inexpensive and do help, especially if your grow is very contained, like a tent. CAP gen series burners are not cheap, produce a lot of heat, plus propane ain't cheap either.
so ill look up and see your journal if i may?

so i live in a state where i can have 99 per 10x10 area but my next grow will be 48 in a 10x10 secret jardin tent. but what do you mean by inviromental controls? and im not sure how many lumens etc my lights put off i have 3 1000watt hps in 3\4 of my room when i go to 48 i will have 4000watt hps. i hair air conditioner, heater, and de humidifier. (see my journal for pics)

where can i find the bucket systems and how to use it? see id rater not use propane etc but id like more co2 because i was told it will help make plants bigger etc.... TY DANNY + rep

the thing about c02 administration machines is you have to know the exact ppm that is needed for your grow space and an air tight grow area that exchanges air with the outside in intervals, also you may want to think about roots needing o2 for fast and full development, the operations ive seen that have it right harvest much faster though.

if you want to get into it think about some o2 boost for the water you feed them or an airstone in your resivor if you use hydro or aero sice the air around the plants will be very full of c02

what is a o2 boost? with the nutes i use it says not to use a airstone i use gh organics but i use top feeding with a aerating to water.

I'm on my first grow and went with a 50 lb c02 tank with regulator. That regulator hooks up to my c02 controller (sentinel chhc-4). I didn't use the c02 during veg since the plants won't use more than what was naturally in the air (roughly 500-750 ppm). Now that I'm in flower I'm blasting at 1500 ppm. It's been 2 full weeks running the c02 and I barely dented the tank. Plants in flower can handle heat better when given enough c02 as well. For a decent c02 setup you're looking at an easy $600-1000, depending on which way you go (tank/regulator/controller vs c02 generator) either way you can't lose.

Or you could mix yeast with sugar water. I've heard this produces c02 as well, just not something I want to play around with.

I use a chhc-4 by sentinel and it rules I got a 50lbs tank and a well sealed room with 6000 watts lasts nearly two weeks:) the controller is important for me to dial in my system ..see my journal for more .

there is liquid o2 that you can puchase go on google real quick and check it out, also why couldnt you use an airstone? i have no knowledge of it doing anything other than increasing 02 in the water not ph or anything
