Goodmorning everyone well I am a newbi first time growing
I've done a lot of looking around. So I bought this Ph Soil fertilizer meter at home depot and a lot people here and other forums have told me is garbage but then again no one recomends a diffrent and better one .

So what am asking is for experience growers to recomend a good tester
Top of the line reliable metters please
For
Ph soil -water ph -moistoure- PPM

Hey fella :-)

I've never had any luck with the ones that measure the soil. However, most of the soil sold by hydroponic shops is the correct ph anyway, and even has buffer agents which account for any differences in ph of the water you feed them (I still ph my water to 6.5 anyway).

My advice would be to get a ph pen, that way you can accurately measure the ph of all solutions you put into the soil; as well as being able to get a rough approx on the soil ph by running ph7 water through it and measuring the run off. I use the "Accuread Laboratories pH PEN" and am very happy with, and can thoroughly recommend it.

I know the one you are talking about and it is very inaccurate. I would reccomend going to Amazon and you will find a bunch of Ph testers and PPM meters on there that are less than $20 each. I have been using them for 2 years now and they have been worth every penny.

How many different shades of piss are there? Seems accurate Lol
Dolemite lime amended in your soil will keep your ph in range! Get a pen and ph before feeding and watering if you want! The in soil meters suck! If anything test your runoff for more of an accurate assessment! Buy a pen and keep it clean especially after nutrients have been tested with it, if you don't it will read wrong!

Actually you need 7.01 solution and 4.0 (maybe its 4.1 and 7.0 i forget) solution to verify, but I have a Milwaukee pen, I wouldn't skimp on it I paid 80 for mine and wish I got a better one! But whatever you can afford, The ph up and down drops work fine but don't use them to test pen accuracy!

What I ment is that I am going to buy a pen and I am going to buy the ph drop as well . So I can test with the pen . And if it gives me a unwanted readin I would do a sepreatly test with the drops to see if it was correct . ( I was thinking on the Blue Labratory Pen is like 89 dollars what you think ? )

Blue lab is great from what I hear! I'm not quite sure what you mean about the drops, the drops are used to reach your desired ph level say you have a ph of 8.7 you would add drops slowly and keep testing until you hit your mid 6 range, I like 6.3 in soil! Maybe we are talking different drops?
