I dried too long, rookie mistake. Am I screwed?

This was my first grow. After giving half to the friend who gave me the vegged clones and a ton of coaching I was left with a little more than 14 oz of untrimmed bud. I think I screwed up by letting it dry for too long. I have trimmed some and put it in jars. The rest is in a 5 gal bucket that I trim from as I have time. Both the bucket and my jars are reading 55% humidity after two days. Is this crop doomed now? Will using Boveda packs help?

No its not doomed. If youre up north its winter still so dry outside and dry heat inside the house too. The nose goes away. And untrimmed has less nose than trimmed too. Boveda will work.
Trimmed stuff in a jar with a boveda or boost pac and in a warmish place. Top of and back of a refrigerator works well to rehydrate and warm up. Should make the nose pop.
Id put the 5 gallon stuff in a turkey bags with a boveda then back in the bucket too store it better.

I see a lot of herb and its hard determining good nose in flower during winter time. Ill sit around at the growers place drink a beer and talk story and let the pounds warm up to really get a good smell. Otherwise straight from cool storage there's little smell.

Thanks for that. I'm in southern IL, so not really up north. It's just starting to fell like Spring is coming here, humidity is still low. So far I've been storing in the basement. I'll bring them up to a warmer spot and keep on trimming.

My best buds are the ones that fall on the floor and get forgotten for a couple weeks. I am very slow to learn from this. My buds are usually 55% after I dry trim them and get them in a jar. They taste quite good but never as good as the ones that get forgotten on the floor.

Once below 55% RH the curing process won't take place. Once you've hit this point, nothing will make it better. Adding moisture won't restart the curing process; it will just make the product wet. No amount of praying, hoping or anything else will rectify it.

That being said it's still perfectly smokable and will get you high... providing all else is/was fine with the crop.
