I could use some help with my cab! (9 PIX)

Have you seen that thing on Al B Fuct's threads? He has his fan on a speed controller set to low and wired also to a thermostat. So his always run on low and then kicks in full high when the temps reach the set point. I'm wanting to do that also in my room, but in additional to that have it run full blast once an hour or so.

I think you are on the right track. You have the ideas. I think each one will do the job. Just try out what you can and see what works best for you.

If you have passive intakes.. when the fan goes off you will lose the negative pressure inside.. and the room will get smelly, if that is a concern.

I just installed a 80cfm 4' inline duct fan from home depot and that thing is loud enough to hear through a closet door. If you're going to be using a high cfm fan (which you're going to need) you will definetly need to drop some big bucks for a high cfm and low noise one...... I almost suggest looking for a new grow space as that closet is going to have stale warm air. Otherwise you could try to take some more ducting and run some duct out of the closet and pull your fresh air in through that....

The S&P fan he has should be very quiet.. i have the td100x model and you can barely hear it inside my cab in a closet.

Yeah, my fan will be here next week. Its rated 197 cfm's. That should be enough to exhaust my small ass box.

Dude, we should start an official "Cab'n a Closet" thread! I'm starting to see a real trend with this. Maybe post pics and specs or your cab or something. Just an idea!

Yeah, I seen a couple folks with them. I think what I need to is move that one into to the room and get a wireless one to monitor the inside of the cab.

Ya man for sure.. i mean if your just growing for your own personal use or maybe even a little commercial, its perfect, i mean i can grow a couple 3' tall plants in this thing without anybody knowing. btw i wasnt able to get the cooltube installed in time, its rigged with cfls now. Anyways this is how the outside of it turned out.

I'm running CFL's at the moment until this fan I ordered get here. I'll run my temperature tests and see how it goes. If temps turn out fine, I'll get a 400 w MH to veg with in the future.

I hear they make 2 different styles of MH, The common Big round thing and then there is one shaped like an HPS Bulb but its hard to find, so i hear. Anyways, the typical MH bulb wont fit inside of a bake a round...

You know, i have been thinking about not using my cool tube. Maybe just a bat wing reflector.

Ya you could probably get away with it with that big fan you're getting. Bummer though i cant wait to get my bake a round cookin lol

can't get the temps to get under 83 degrees. I tried several hundred different variations and this one seems to be the coolest but it is still hot! All advice is welcome.

have the fan pull thru the cool tube....seems to work better

I agree (this is how my setup is). Mount that fan outside of the cabinet and make sure the holes inside your cab are big enough to let plenty of air in. You're on the right track, but from what I can see, your fan is drawing air from half way up in the cab rather than from the top. But you definitely want the fan to be pulling from outside the cab rather than pushing from within. I have a "Homebox" and everything except the fan is inside the unit itself. The fan is outside and I have a split ducting. One pulls outside air in and across my lamp and back out, the other pulls through a carbon canister filter within the box and creates suction within the box. Homebox has very large, netted cutouts on the bottom which allow tons of airflow in. You'll need to make bigger holes so you don't have negative pressure within your cab. Sorry, this was not very well written....just writing my thoughts as they came to mind.

The fan was on the other side of the cab pulling the heat from the cool tube and it was like 88 in there. Plus mine is a DIY Cool Tube so the cord set is in the line of the ducting. The way I have it set up now, the cord set is hanging out the top hole.

I'd rather not mount the fan on the outside of the cab cause I am in an apartment. It just seems kinda ill to have the big ass fan sitting on top of the cab. I am going to consider making more intake holes at the bottom. Too bad there is not a lot of ceiling space in the interior for me to put everything in a straight line. Thanks for your help though, homie!

you need to mount the fan pulling cool air acroos the cool tube get a venting duct that you cant have pulling in fresh outside the box cool air and leave it venting out of the box...if the box is in an inclosed room try and get it up and out...im only telling you this after setting up the same setup in an apartment and i vented the exhaust up one of the light fixtures in the ceiling i can keep it at 78 degree..good luck brotha.
