Dude, your missing the bigger picture; it's not what they did, it's the method they used.

We don't live in a quantized world; it's analog; there's shades of grey in the real world. You just have to be smart enough to recognize the situation for what it is and respond accordingly.

It's tough when your a cop; conditions change fast. But a guy trying to make a buck selling cigs on the street corner vs a guy committing a robbery ....
it's revenue based.

not quota..r-e-v-e-n-u-e

"cuff-em and stuff-em":wink:my exes words

this is BIG business.

they are looking to fine and set-up payment plan when the guy can't pay up front.

extortion: the other white meat

there is also another dynamic at play you smart men and tweaker farm boy have missed..they're paramilitary:

and certainly nothing new:

Why did you take a plea bargain if you did nothing wrong?

And they cannot do a felony stop on you for speeding so.....
Public defender.
The DA took a week to press charges becuase each time the cops came to them the DA said not enough for charges so they kept adding details (lies)
Like I almost hit a pedestrian, the distance, I resisted arrest etc etc. It was better to take a plea for traffic offense than risk a jury trial which you have to pay for in advance

nowhere in the constitution does it say standing in front of a speeding train is punishable by death either.

career felons well known to the police, who start wrasslin with the cops when they dont know if he is packin steel necessitates a violent response.

and sometimes when you start shit, you get stomped.
yeah, but YOU get to make that choice.

in 5, 4, 3, 2, and we have..

Sometimes they got you over a barrel.

I took a plea one time. Fucking deputy sheriff lied his ass off and charged me with class b felony.

It was a plea or spend thousands, and they know that.

LOL Shuylarr you are so fun sometimes. I like how you say they find cops guilty all the time and give them the boot. Is that what guilty cops get today, a boot from the job? They don't get sent to prison or pay a fine or anything? No, because they actually weren't found guilty of shit, the department let them go before that happened.

/QUOTE]
by the by..they go to prison all the time, it's just not advertised to the general public.

you'd be surprised..they don't air their dirty laundry.

i've been privy to way more behind the scenes than you'll ever be.

They didn't put the choke hold on him for selling loose cigs, they did it because he was resisting arrest and trying to assault the officers. Just watch the video, its obvious.

The outcome is especially disturbing when you consider the reported reason for the roust ... selling loose cigs?

The brother wasn't paying city taxes ...
Actually he was taking away business from the bodega he was camped out in front of. He should have put his wrists out, because he knew he was going to get arrested like he did the other six times. Too bad for the guy the cop was an asshole, but he was being arrested, and should have put his hands out. He just fucked with the wrong cop.

I watched a group of about a dozen officers spend over an hour talking down a lunatic with a handgun. His car was encircled by police cruisers and 1-2 officers behind the front doors of every one, the guy was going no where. He was waving his gun around, approaching the vehicles within 20 feet drawn and pointed while screaming, then back up to his car and circle around it while screaming some more, still no shots were fired and he eventually just gave up.

These guys spent a few moments before deciding to take him down with force. Guy was unarmed and outnumbered.... thinking just the threat of a couple tasers would of got him to surrender. But nope, just sneak up behind him and attack.

And in that situation, how do you not fight back? Natural reaction to being choked is to pull that shit off your neck. Can't cuff a guy when he thinks he can't breath, they are just going to panic more.

It shouldn't be some bar fight unless the suspect is the one jumping on peoples backs to start.

It's this chicken and egge thing ---

He wasn't assulting anybody; they started trying to arrest him and he resisted. Watch the long version of the vid. Clearly he'd been through it all before.

So what was the motivation for the arrest this time? Suspicion of selling cigs or the space he was taking up?

My arguement is at the end of the day I suspect everybody would take a do-over. Which says a lot.

Btw, cops don't generally apologize when they take out really bad dudes.

4 cops are standing on a street corner in New York and some lunatic comes up and hits one in the head with an axe and then hits another in the arm. Hindsight is perfect.
