I bought this THCa liquid and I’m wondering if anyone knows if I can decarb

I bought it bc I want to cut back on smoking and originally thought this would make me high but it doesn’t and I need it for sleep. Please and thanks!

I looked it up. They describe it as a tincture, which means alcohol is a (or the) solvent.

What I would try is gently boiling it until the temp reaches 100 degrees C or so for ten minutes. Treat it like the reduction step in making a sauce.

You can then make it up to original volume using 95% alcohol.

So boil it down (maybe in a double boiler?) and then add alcohol back into it? What if I don’t have any alcohol?

Then you might be able to heat-treat it without losing volume.

I would use direct heat. Double boilers stall out below 100 degrees.

If it were mine to do, I would use a small lab-type beaker. I would stir with a thermometer. Anything small and made of glass, ceramic or unreactive metal (it must not contain silver! I’ve turned nice extracts into hard garbage in a couple of weeks due to silver contamination) should do.

I would use a conductive plate, like a skillet or pan, between your heat source and the container.

Go slow and keep a sharp eye on temperature! Not enough and you haven’t decomposed the THCA. Too much and you start losing THC.

What are you going to use as your heat source? Be super careful if it's open flame. And also you don't want to put your face right over it.......vaporized alcohol will make your eyes cross!
