As soon as this grow is done, im trying out pro mix hp for the first time, in 3 gallon air pots (bruce banner autos) any tips?, also wondering if irs ok to mix in some pro mix organic just to help retain water or is better not to?

Ok I did my research n 1000 vids n discussions n figures that I would go with ff happy frog. easy n water for the first 2 weeks then I'll dial in my nutes for my best way for my final product , thx guy for the help

I would get a copy of the water tests from your supplier to see what all is in the water. Should be free and probably email you one. Is the vending machine water RO water? Do you have a ppm pen to check your water? I only use RO or distilled so water never is an issue if I have problems.

You don't have to nothing to the HP but break up any lumps. I put lots in a tub and pre-moisten it with nute water then fill pots and stick the plant in and water in good with the nute water. Away they go!

To moisten lots of HP I poke a bunch of holes in a milk jug lid, fill with the nute water and use it like a watering can tho a watering can would work great too. I just get it moist enough that it forms a ball when squeezed but breaks apart easy. Don't want it too wet until the plant is in then soak it good.

How often you water depends on the size of the pot and plant. A clone in a 1 gal pot may not need to be watered for 2 weeks then 1 week and after a while every 2 days which means it needs a bigger pot. Lift the pot when first watered then don't water until the pot feels pretty light. A 4L pot should take 1L at each watering before runoff happens. Using RO or distilled water means you shouldn't have to have extra runoff ever if you don't feed too much.

With a clone in a larger pot you may not need to feed for the first 3 waterings after starting as it has to grow roots all thru the pot to get the nutes you put in at first. I like to just water with maybe a little CalMag until I see a bit of yellow happening in the lower leaves then feed it the 2ml/L of all 3 parts. That's a 1-1-1 ratio of the Grow-Micro-Bloom, (GMB). As the plant gets going well I like to switch to a 3-2-1 ratio then back to 1-1-1 with a half dose of Big Bud a week before flipping to flower. Other than those things and maybe some Rhino Skin that's all the AN stuff I use. Most of the other stuff doesn't do a lot and ends up causing problems. Any CalMag will do but one with lower N and some iron is best and I use some Epsom Salts and a few of my mineral supplements ground up and added once in a while. Fe, Zn, Se, B-1, ascorbic and citric acids.

I've experimented using the HP with the ProMix Veg&Herb that has time relesed organic nutes and using the XP with added manures and earth worm castings and neither worked well for me but I never seem to do well with organic growing. Soilless or DWC using the AN 3-part keeps me and the plants happier. 20 years using AN and I've tried other nutes too but AN works great and with the pH Perfect aspect it's a lot less work than others. Never having to check or adjust pH is truly a blessing for a lazy old fart like me.

Cool thanks, my last 2 grows I've only used prom mix root bloom and molasses for veg, but after the switch I use big bud and then finish off with over drive, this present grow ive been fighting slider mites and they've kinda been winning..songinna use this to see what happens if I give overdrive for 3 weeks

Is there chloramine in the sink water and how hard is your water? Long term, pH adjusted, filtered tap water may be your best option.

I've tried that Overdrive and found it lacking. Same with a few other AN things. Right now I have two near identical Monkey Banana Kush plants growing in 4gal pots using 3- part AN nutes with Big Bud on one and Greenleaf MegaCrop 1-part dry nutes and their P/k and K only supplements on the other to see how that goes. So far liking the MegaCrop. RO water only and not pH testing the MegaCrrop either as it came out at pH 6.0 with RO water and 6.5 using my dugout water that is pH 8 and 400 ppm. Even have some REMO nutes from a kit I won at a grow store draw so could have done a 3-way test but meh.

Spider mites suck big time and near impossible to get rid of in flowering unless you want to wreck your buds. I had some thrips in the clones I got from a buddy recently, the Monkey Banana Kush, but sprayed well for them and haven't found any recently so pretty sure they are all gone. Still checking daily tho what with it being summer and all sorts of bugs around.

U got a ppm. meter?

Ya I've tried ridding them with neem oil dish soap and lavendar oil, first 2 sprays seem to be working..but then for some reason the 3rd time I i sprayed in cooked 60% of pistles, I know they re grow but scared me off from using it..so gonna go with The 3 week over drive and a 1 week flush, now will bleach kill everything in the tent 100% ..wanna make sure everything is completely sterile before starting my bruce banners...been waiting months to start these and don't want anything to interfere with them

Try predatory insects, spider mites have more than a few predators; you can always get a praying mantis egg case in the spring as well.

I'm indoors , and could just imagine my wife's face if I released 100s of ladybugs or mantis in the house..

I pH my water to 5.7 with ProMix. I use Grow-Micro-Bloom. 3ml each in a 5 gallon bucket. I also add DynaGrow ProTekt silica.

Worm compost is the best for flavor and growth. You can start by adding worm castings to your promix.

I grew a Blue Dream the whole way through with just P and K. The plant was pale and frosty.

I had a two year battle with mites that came from my clone buddy's place. Some plants out in the greenhouse were going to get tossed and I knew there was bugs on them but in my arrogance figured I could deal with it. None of the plants survived but the mites sure did.

My problem was not being consistent with my spraying but finally got my act together and got rid of them.

I used Safer's End All concentrate mixed up as directed but added 10ml/L canola oil to suffocate the bastards. One 500ml bottle cost the same as 1L of the pre-mixed spray but makes 10L. Made sure to spray really good with a strong light behind me to be able to see any missed spots and did it every 4 days for 4 treatments. Never seen a mite since and that was a year ago. For the grow room I just kept it warm and no plants in there for a month so any bugs would starve to death and any eggs that hatched those mites would find nothing to eat and starve too. Didn't do any sterilization or anything else. If allowed to cool down the mites go into hibernation and will wake up once warm. The go red when ready to hibernate too so I kept it at 80F as the warmer it is the faster their metabolism and life cycle is.

You definitely want to be checking for bugs all the time. That one leaf with a few spots can turn into a war in a week indoors and if in flowering it's no picnic fighting them by hand like I did with a thrip infestation a couple years ago. We only seem to get thrips and mites here since I started filtering my air to keep the fungus gnats out.

I really have nobody to blame except myself, before I switched i rearranged my tent and put the plant outside on the deck for at most 2hrs..guess it was just enough time to catch a hitchhiker..but as pissed as I am, it was a good learning experience never had a pest problem before, it will be good for next year when try my first outdoor grow...need to grow a monster

Here's the two left I have outside this year. Auto fems that two went male and those two haven't begun to flower tho I found a few hairs on the big CBD one on the left. Was hoping for a decent harvest with free light for once. Will try again next year with more stable genetics I hope.

I'm tarping them over at 9pm and the wife is taking it off at 9am to try to force them to start flowering. Sprouted on June 17.

Qe live on a corner so I don't have a backyard I have a side yard, and the fence we had just wasn't big enough..but now we built a nice tall one to keep eye off..even though it's legal to grow I don't want some lazy clown seeing it and taking it...this is my blueberry that I can't wait to finish..got a few seeds of these left for next summer

You look like you are getting close so I'd be sleeping next to the plant to keep asshole rippers off. Ought to be fairly smelly by now too.

I got blueberry and a few crosses of it too. Great original strain and DJ Short's has to be right on top.

Oh she pretty dank right now..good thing my tent is in my closet, was gonna grab a portable ac to cool it down enough to hopefully slow rhe mires down and she has abit of cal/mag deficiency..been adding sensi to my feed itn ooks like it getting better.. but just have to make it to rhe end of the month and I'll be happy..keep asking the wife to move iout to the sticks, but she like burbs, which sucks cause if indo grow outdoors next summer its the teens in the neighborhood gotta worry about..cant even beat them if i catch them guess i could accidentally leave an antique bear trap lying around
