Don’t take this the wrong way but you haven’t. There is no possibility of that stopping an accidental spill etc while watering plants or working in that area. It would literally take a couple minutes to relocate the power strip to a safer spot like above or to the upper side of window. Not sure if you live alone but think of any others in the building if your not concerned

I use a sprayer to water my plants behind the plastic, it opens with two zippers on each side so I can do the work behind the plastic.

I'm definitely being careful.

Still appreciate the concern though.

You have a very “ i got this” attitude and I respect that but there will be a point ( hopefully) that it will be impossible to water your plants that way
Just saying and all im saying lol
I don't see how.

I can keep doing it this way the entire grow.

That being said I'm going to invest in an automatic watering system and reservoir soon. This way I can water by drip irrigation and only foiliar spray every so often.

Getting one that has WiFi so I can custom control everything while away from my home.

Currently my plugs are WiFi controlled.
I can turn my lights, heater and fan on and off and set automation from my phone as long as I have an internet connection.

The plugs are connected to my cable router at home. :bigjoint:

Going to get a WiFi thermometer/hygrometer soon too, plus a camera for the window so I can watch my plants while on vacation.

@ShawnSunshine the more I read your threads and post the more I think we would be great friends in real life!! Some of your Attitude is inspiring and could be harnessed into a benefit to your hobby. However, the blind dismissal of every single experienced gardener here is not serving you.

im Not mechanically inclined. I never spent much time poking around engines. That being said I know the basic idea say behind replacing spark plugs. Ez pz. Pull one out put one in attach wires. how hard can it be??
Now let’s pretend I went on an auto forum and said fucking spark plugs, ez pz. I know how!!! Watch me! Meanwhile dozens of seasoned mechanics give me advise like, did you check the spacing. Did you use a torque wrench. Did you forget the sealing lube!? And instead of saying ooo shit your right, I forgot all that stuff. I say “no no no none of your experienced mechanics know what your talking about, it’s fine! You don’t really need that.”

that’s my analogy and I hope it sheds some light to you. And a reminder I think your pretty cool otherwise, just would do well here to accept some of these seasoned experienced growers advice.

So many red flags. Move the power bar for sure. I really hope you have a GFCI on that circuit lol.

I've used Wifi to monitor my garden and had the ability to turn pumps on and off. You really don't want to be doing that shit when you aren't at home, those wifi dealies aren't reliable enough IMO. When power drops they suck, they take forever to reconnect etc.etc. if your pump turns on and the power drops? I hope you didn't buy the shit china ones that will stay in an open state, power comes back on and before the wifi reconnects the outlet is set to on and floods your shit in the 5 minutes it takes for the wifi to come back. Waiting for the power to come back on is bad enough, you're just adding another layer.

Get a quality cycle timer, a regular timer and program the cycle timer to come on an hour after lights on off an hour before lights off. Always have a catch basin as large or larger than your input reservoir if you are going to be watering while not watching it. If your lines are going to have multiple angle fittings use crimp rings to secure the fittings, or better use SCH 40 pex and glue that shit. Don't rely on friction fittings on anything that will have pressure going through it. It's one of those things that's fine until it's not.

I give this advice as someone who's flooded his house. I've sent 10 gallons through my ceiling because I was half asleep and my system wasn't idiot proofed.

oh and they are right you're probably going to have mold issues. We've made these mistakes, they can be expensive, you can choose to listen and learn from them for free. Or not and pay the couple hundred to fix ur shit.
