i am def a noob quick ?

so my plants are a few days old and i was wondering how close i should keep them from the light. its about 6" from the top of the plant. they are 3 days old and 2" long seem to keep going up . should i lower the light so the plant doesnt strech???

Thats way too close for a 1000w HPS in a 1 x 1 x 2 cabinet in a hot barn in south florida.
