top layer of my hydrotron turning green? this normall
cover the tops so the algae stops getting light.
was wondering what to cover it with, theres a bunch to cover lol, make some plastic lids?
if you are already adding h202 to res you are prably not running organic nutes so if i was you i would mix a batch of h202 and water in a spray bottle and spray the hydroton down every so often i had this on my hydroton left it for a while when i cleaned them just put them in a tote filled with water and h202 and it was gone in a few hours.
Odd that you have alge with hydroton. When your system floods does it flood over the hydroton? Does your hydroton get submerged? If so thats why you are getting alge the nutes are getting on the top of the hydroton and with the light alge grows. I am running organic nutes so I dont use h202. BUT I dont have my flood go over the hydroton, the level stays about 1/2" below the top layer of the hydroton. No Alge at all with that setup, I have no idea how much adjustment you have to your system but just an idea. Besides the h202 will resolve the problem after its gone ya might wanna fix it assuming thats the issue. Save yourself some h202 that way. Good Luck
try it man im positive it will help if you are adding it to the res you will have no problems with your ladies almost impossible to overdose on h202thats funny you mentioned that cuz I put small blocks under my pods, you can see them in my other thread aim I ready to 12/12 when I put them in
when I noticed the algae I guess I planted them to low anyway it was easy to fix now the flood line is 2 in under the surface Il spray with h202 and
I hope that fixes it
