Right now HD has their orange buckets on sale for $2.48 and the lids for .98! they're usually $5+ and $3+?... Paint them black(the outside) and there are literally dozens of different systems you can set-up; from a simple single DWC(as Antrumblood said), Hempy-Style, to Bubbleponic Buckets to multiple buckets as in a Ebb&Gro with a res and a controller, or a bucket by bucket gravity fed(manual) flood & drain..........What do you want in a system?(or out of it:leaf:)....

Then there's the lights, ventilation, etc...........

Search any of these in the DIY section

Have fun and great luck to you!!

1. cover the glass of the 10gallon tank with black contruction paper.
2. cut the styrene insulation to fit on top of the tank.
3. cut a hole in the insulation to hold your net pot.
4. connect your air pump, hose, and air stone and place air stone inside tank.

5. fill with water, and what ever nutes you prefere.

Tip: To make changing the tank/rez easier. Get some garden hose, stick one end in the tank, take the other end and suck the water through to make a siphon and drain.

Tip2: When your plant is about 3 weeks old it will be sucking up water like it was its job. Top off the rez with just water, no nutes. Only add more nutes when you are changing out the water.
