Hey there !!

So I was just searching through for info and came accross the use of Hydrogen Peroxide in growing.
Apparently it is really good for healthy roots, keeps the medium free of fungis, algae, mould etc.
Helps the plant uptake nutes, gives the roots heaps of oxygen etc etc !!

I was thinkin I might try it out, was gonna see if anyone here had used it and if they had any good or bad experience ?

Any information is good info really, just an open thread to see what you guys thoughts are on HydroPeroxy !!!!

Also I jus got this product called " 016 Stablized Oxygen - PH Balanced" made by Tech Nature P/L Sydney !!

Its apparently liquid oxygen and under a microscope is meant to look like jus millions of little bubbles.
Apparently it does the same as what the hydrogen peroxide except its alot more effective and its pure !!

Any infomation on this product would be handy as well !! Considering its $40 per 1 litre !!

Cheers guys !!

In hydroponics yes I've used it several times. In soil, no I haven't used it, never really heard of anyone using it in soil.

Hey mate how do you go about using it? Is there big difference's when using it ?
Have you ever tried stabilized liquid oxygen ? If so would you use it the same way as Hydrogen peroxide ?

I use it in soil ANY time I get fungus gnats (not often anymore).

And yes, in acgricultural crops in less than stellar soils, they use it in watering to help keep soils aerated and improve nutrient uptake.

that said, I've used it a lot over the years, but I myself wouldn't use it except as a part of maintenance and only when needed.

A healthy plant in a good environment needs no encouragement to uptake nutrients nor will any extra prodding do much.

that's my take anyway..

Using Hydrogen Peroxide In A Hydroponics SystemThere is no doubt about the benefits of using hydrogen peroxide properly in a hydroponics system. This becomes especially true if your nutrient reservoir solution is maintained above 72 degrees. Warm water holds less dissolved oxygen, and therefore encourages the growth of more viruses, fungi, and anaerobic bacteria. Using hydrogen peroxide adds oxygen to the water and cleans it of pathogens. In hydroponic gardening, there are harmful bacteria strains that will thrive in low oxygen content water. The warmer it gets, the less oxygen it holds.

Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) will counteract the chlorine many public water providers use to sterilize tap water. Well water may be high in methane and organic sulfates, and H2O2 will remove both. Many disease causing organisms and spores are killed by the free oxygen that H2O2 releases. Hydrogen peroxide will help eliminate existing infections and prevent future ones. It will prevent bacterial wilt, pythium fungi, fusarium fungi, and others.

Not only is oxygen a major component of the plant structure itself and one of the main elemental nutrients the plant feeds upon, it also performs many important functions within the plant participating in all metabolic processes. Adding H202 will provide extra oxygen to help with all these functions including:

Assists the oxidization of metallic elements to make them available for plant use.
Helps stimulate protein production at a cellular level, enhancing photosynthesis.
Helps break down the carbohydrates created through photosynthesis.

Increases root zone activity - getting more nutrients to the plant.

Promotes more plant vigor.

Produces bushier, thicker stems.

Increases seed germination.

Increases survival of cuttings.

Cleans and disinfects the system resulting in less disease.

To get a head start on seed germination, whether you're starting herbs, flowers, vegetables, or fruits, you can speed up the sprouting process and protect your seedlings from mildews and molds with simple hydrogen peroxide.

For wet sprouting (when using a flat surface and wet paper towel or other cloth) spray the outer surface of the damp material enclosing the seeds once a day. Continue to supplement watering with a 3% solution even after the sprouts are up and beginning to grow. You can also use the 3% hydrogen peroxide, to spray foliage, bark, and blooms if you notice any kind of bacterial attack on your plants.
Safe and the most user friendly are the regular strengths of hydroponic peroxide, 3% 5% and 8%. If you read the label on a bottle of regular household hydrogen peroxide you will usually see that the inactive ingredient is purified water. This is like pure distilled water that is beneficial. On the label, look for “Active Ingredient:”ق│┼it should state “hydrogen peroxide (stabilized) 3%.”

Three percent hydrogen peroxide may be added at up to three milliliters per liter (2 1/2 teaspoons per gallon), but it is recommended that you start at a lower concentration and increase to full strength over a few weeks. Use at every reservoir change (each 2-3 weeks) starting out with 1 teaspoon per gallon; at the next change (and at every change after that) increase the hydrogen peroxide to 2-1/2 teaspoons per gallon. Let the hydroponic system circulate the hydrogen peroxide-water solution for about 30 minutes to let the hydrogen peroxide work against pathogens. That allows the solution to stabilize before adding nutrients.

The beneficial effects of using hydrogen peroxide last about 4 days. There are some gardeners who add a little of it to the nutrient reservoirs every 5 days between reservoir changes. If you do this always make sure your solution is thoroughly mixed before exposing your plant roots to it.

Your local hydroponics retailer will no doubt carry the solution you require, and it can also be purchased from many web sites The 3%, 5%, or 8% solutions can be found at most drugstores or pharmacies, but purchasing solutions from your local hydroponic store is a better option. The containers will have charts for dilution and instructions for use that will be very helpful.

So to break it down if you are capable of growing a healthy plant in good quality medium with the proper nutes and water only when need be than really the added oxygen is gonna be useless?
Only really need it when the plant gets sickley?

Is there any benefits if I was to use this as a additive to my nutrient solution for my plants in coco ? Im using straight premium coco without perlite. Drains very well and plants loving growing in it !!
Would either the "016 Stabilized Liquid Oxygen" or Hydrogen peroxide help improve plant growth with added oxygen in coco ?

I dont wanna feed my plants this liquid oxygen stuff and then they all die. I have fairly healthy plants I would think, needing a watering every day!

Thanks for your helpful info mate, if you have any more plz share !

Thanks man, yeah thats the info I read earlier which sparked curiosity on the subject !! I looked that up because I couldnt find info on the stabilized liquid oxygen I have, the closest thing I could find was people using hydrogen peroxide, so im guessing maybe the product im using has alot less chemicals but holds 90,000 ppm of di-atomic oxygen per 1 litre !!!

I'd ask the coco growers.. just not my preferred medium sorry..

I like dirt.. no maintenance, set em up and forget about em 'dirt'..

That said, ya, if your plant is healthy and in good environment and 'loving it'.. LEAVE THEM ALONE.. dig?

The most important thing you will ever do for your plant is to get it in a good environment, and let it be. Trying to pump EXTRA when it is doing fine, is always a recipe for more than you needed to deal with.

I'm interested in this, and from what I've been reading, in soil your further off the take care of airration of the roots with your soils substrate like perlite.

I use H2O2 in my soil spray for my clones...
I perodiocly spray walls down in grow area...
I mix it with my 1/8th feed/water first nutes given to my clones...
I reycycle my clone pots, and clean them with H2O2 spray before I do...
I prob use too much...if that's even possible...
Walmart had some on sale for $.50 per quart last week....
I bought a gallon...

Wow, I bought "016 Stabilized liquid Oxygen - PH Balanced" at $40 a litre.... or is it because it isnt hydrogen peroxide... and therefore expensive to make :S

My ladies live in a great environment, only thing I really need would be cO2 tank !!

Was jus thinkin there might be some value to come from a $40 bottle of oxygen lol.

I get curious and excited when I see new stuff, I buy it and then go oh fuck what do I do with it lol !!
Lol further more dont even know if the shit works, well its looking a little better now knowing that it could actually be really good.
But could also be a waste of time.
