Has anyone used Hydroasis.com. Any probelms? I cannot seem to get my order to go through and there staff is less than helpful, no email reply even after saying they were going to loose my bussiness. Is this company bogus? their prices are much lower than some other sites.

Hydroasis is not bogus, but they're not really focused on mail order so far as I can tell. The staff are not what you would describe as go getters. They don't act like salesmen. They have plenty of regular business walking in the front door all day, every day. I doubt you'll get very far sending them "The Customer Is Always Right" rants from the anonymous depths of the Internet.

I too am thinking of making a good sized order from Hydroasis but wanted to check their reviews out first. There were a few red flags when I called the store today. Their employees seem really spaced out. I was asked to hold repeatedly (so that they could help walk in customers I think). I was actually disconnected 10 minutes into my first call. Then on my second call it took 15 minutes for them to determine the total shipping costs for 5 complete lighting systems. The website won't calculate shipping totals over a certain size I guess, so I had to call in. Every time I asked a question the guy had to set the phone down and come back with an answer that took 2-3 minutes per question. And then when I finally got my total, it was about 25% more for shipping 5 together than the website had calculated to send each system individually. I'm not sure what they did wrong. But still, their prices are way less than my local grow store for the same stuff. The hydrofarm system I want is $485 + 7% sales tax ($520) at my LGS and $305 + $40 shipping ($345) at hydroasis. Thats a savings of $175 per system, $700 total. Is sacrificing service worth that much of a savings? What do you guys think?
