at the moment my plants are just little sprouts that have come out of the dark cupboard today and are on their 1st 18/6 hour light cycle.

its my first hydroponics grow and i have read and heard lots about how easy it is to over water.

for the time being i will be watering them by hand......my question at the moment is...........

how wet should the rock wool blocks be???
how often???
at what size should i switch from watering by hand to watering with the hydro system???
what point do i start adding the nute's for veg grow..

i would be much appreciative to anyone who can answer my questions to ensure my younglings grow to their best ability.

You'll only get good nutes from a hydro store. If you don't have one close by you can have them shipped. AN and General Hydro are both popular, I use Humboldt Master A&B.

honestly - yes. I personally go 3 until i nute at 1/4 strength. Your seedlings don't need nutes that early, and could burn if nuted too early.

The AN or general hydroponics nutes are used through your entire grow. I have 3 part GH that you mix according to the phase of the plant.. so it is the same nutes used or veg or flower and it tells you on the bottle how much of each to put in your res depending on the stage you are in.

I don't know if this has been answered..but you should avoid wetting the rockwool once roots have started searching for water.(This only applies if you are putting the rock wool into another medium like hydrotron by the way)
I usually water off to the side after a week (I'm saying I usually hand water for about a week directly on the rockwool and then I try and water around the cube) Alot of people do water the cubes directly, but through the research I've done I have learned that it's best for the plant to have a nice big root system, developed at an early age. I have also read that roots grow in times of drought in search of water. So if you make your plants search for water after they have an established root (may take less than a week too, not sure on that) then it's better for your plant in the longrun. I have also seen the roots on my plants covering the drain holes of my 8" pots at 3 weeks old. So I know it works... just my experience.

hows it going? I have a ? if u don't mind. How long do you wait before you give a rooted clone nuts? I use GH also and I have been giving them nuts since I switched from EZ cloner to ebb n flo buckets and seems to work great no nut burn at all . I use a 2-2-1 ratio to start with

If you are asking me, go with nutes as soon as you have roots established (1/4 strength for first week, then if they respond well - up them).
