Hydro Set Up Questions??????

Hey people a buddy of mine went to a Hydroponic store today looking for a 12 plant kit. The guy had none in stock and would take 2 weeks to order so... He told us he'd make one the same matched all the parts he had and it was 35 bucks cheaper than the order in one...

Question 1:
He gave us 2 stage nutriens:A-B Dutch Nutrient 4 bottles 2 for flowering and 2 for vegg..

And another bottle same company but its an acid i dunt member witch one exactly maybe you guys no wat im talkin about...

We bought a germination tray with the ventable lid and with those brown round rocks i forget the name... he threw in the puck u put the seed in they expand with the moisture in the box.

Question 2:
When does he add these forst set of nutrients...


Thanks in advance...

This is the Vegg Nutrient he gave me...Ill look for the blooming nutrient and post pics later..

Question 1:

It sounds like you are probably talking about Humic Acid. Dutch Nutrients offers a product called DNF Black.

In a hydroponic environment humic acid supplementation offers many of the same benefits to plants that it does in a soil culture. Because hydroponics is performed in an enclosed environment it is possible to specifically target plants with a minimum of waste.

Adding a humic acid based solution, referred to as “BLACK” in hydroponic preparations, to the nutrient reservoir will increase the efficacy of the nutrients, making both micro and macro nutrients more readily available to the root zone. Humic acid’s high cation capacity serves as a chelator which helps plants better assimilate all the nutrients in the solution. The chelation process helps make and keep nutrients readily available to be used by plants as needed.

Question 2:

Typically you don't want to begin fertilizing your plants until they are at least 2 weeks old. There are a few exceptions to this rule when using Dutch type fertilizers as they are highly efficient in feeding plants compared to most commercial fertilizers.

It also depends on what type of strain you are growing and whether or not the strain has a high or a low tolerance to fertilizers. Read the manufacturers recommendations for feed levels. For hydroponics it is usually measured in Parts Per Million (PPM). If they say to use 500 PPM at week 2, be careful until you are sure the plants can handle it. I would normally start with 150 - 200 PPM and give the plants a few days to make sure they can handle it. If so, you can gradually increase the PPM until the leaves start to show signs of fertilizer stress.

Thanks man greatly appreciated... You sound like you no what your talking about ... He bought this kit and it was 130 bucks for a complete 12 plant hydro system the store owner matched the kit in the book from nutrients, A T5 Floro's for Vegging, Upgraded size pump with 2 Air line connectors for more bubbly, Those round brown rocks i have no clue what there called All I know is they come from Germany, And of course the tray and the Water tub that goes underneath, and the pucks that expand you just pop your seed in there.

Is that a good Price?

$130 for what you got sounds like a really good deal to me. The round rocks are Hydroton, I believe.
