Whats goin on all you hydro gurus?
I have had two successful soil grows with no problems. I have decided to try my hand at hydro for my next grow. I have revamped my room for 9 plants to grow in a top feed dutch bucket system . I have been following the instructions laid out in the SOG hydroponics video for germinating my seeds. I germinate them in a paper towel inside of a petri dish, after they pop i use tweezers to move the sprout into a 2 inch net pot filled with hydroton clay pebbles and some into a 1 inch square of rock wool. I then place both mediums into the same black plastic tray that sits on a heat mat set to 70 deg and fill the tray half way up the net pots with RO water (with a ph of 5.8 to 6.5 and a ppm of 120 to 250) there is a aquiruim air pump bubbling at all times in the tray right next to the lil sprouts. I add 25 ml of 29% hydrogen peroxide when I change the water every 2 days along with a drop or 2 of B-1. For lighting I keep them under a Hydrofarm FLP24 2-Feet/4-Tube T5 Designer System, between 6 to 9 inches away from the sprouts. I can keep them alive for about a week before they shrivel up and die on me or the cotyledon and first set of true leaves turn brown and die. I have been using my old stock of bag seed until I get a working technique down so as not to ruin my good seeds, but that stock of old seed is running out and I need to figure something out. Can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong? Or if you know a more effective technique? I am open to all options and opinions at this point. Thanks in advance girls and guys Toke Happy[h=1][/h]
