Morning y'all
So the title might not even be the correct title, I don't know.
But here goes anyway. I have been reading in a lot of threads and posts, about folks dimming their lights. Now I haven't grown indoors for 20 years now and then I used Florescent lights for VEG, and an HPS for bloom. I am having a difficult time getting my seedlings started.
Really PROBABLY because I know I have over-watered them for sure!
With that shared, I have been reading about peeps dimming down their lights.
So this is a question about the light fixtures first!
are these dimmable fixtures factory made as such?
Or do y'all add a dimming switch to the cord to reduce the input?
Thank you in advance.

That’s only 240 watts. So it should be ok for babies if it’s far enough away. Hopefully you have better light for bloom.

Thank you for the reply.
Actually I have 2 of these fixtures.
And they do have a BLOOM switch! That increases the light given out for flower.
But for now I am currently using a 2 foot fluorescent seedling light to get them started.

Max draw is 240 meaning it’s just 480 watts. Turn on all switches from the start and run them that way start to finish the two should be ok for 3 plants maybe 4.

To put it in perspective for you with both running with both switches on you’ll have a whopping 19.2 watts a sqft if you’re still using a 5x5 tent. newest light map I had done for one of my new rooms came out to 52 watts a sqft with 15 lights in. Getting ready to get this order done so They’ll be here to finish the room out. You want that 50 watts a sqft honestly.

I am actually in a 4x4x6 tent. I misread my dimensions on that first post when I came into the RIU forums. But yes I do have 2 of these fixtures.

I thank you for your valuable input in sharing your knowledge with this guy who is getting back into the growing indoor scene after 27 years from my last indoor grow. A lot has changed since then......
