Hydro clone problem!! Help!

Hey all, I am doing my first grow with clones in my hydro system. It's been about 5 days and my leaves are looking a bit yellow, I've never grown with clones so I don't know if they are supposed to look like this? Maybe like they are dry, but don't feel dry at all. I don't think it's a nutrient deficiency, I am using foxfarm big grow, which is what my friend uses for all his plants and their mothers(where the clones came from) Anyway, I am including pics and if anyone has any advice I would appreciate it tons! Pics to be sure but lower leaves will yellow alot of times and the plant will take off fine.

PH lock out! Flush and start clean! Have you changed the solution in a couple of days or just added water to fill the tank back up?

What does ph lock out mean? Just yesterday we started fresh, changed the water completely and our ph is perfect, then I added the nutrients and checked it again, and it was still good, they look a bit better but still kind of yellow

If the PH of the solution gets too high or too low it can cause a nutrient lockout! Meaning your plant won't get nutes and shows signs of deficiencies! Common problem for DWC/Bubblers! Some people have to check their ph three times a day! Good to hear they are looking better! When in doubt always flush and never trust a PH meter unless you know it is calibrated perfectly!

Thanks! We use just the regular ph test strips, nothing fancy. Our Detroit tap water almost always tests perfect but anyway should I invest in one of those high tech ph testers?

I wouldn't unless you have a lot of money to spend on one! The cheap ones are off by a lot!

A 60 dollar hanna meter will do fine. Test strips and drops are inacurate after nutes change the tint of your water to yellow or even worse brown.

Cool, do you know of any dual meters, like a decent one that will test the ph and ppm? Thanks!!

Yeh they make them but your looking at 150 200 bucks. Revolution hydroponics is a decent website to look up hydroponic goodies.

Actually he can get a good combo Hanna/Milwaukee for $60 or less on Ebay.
Mine was $120 new, a year ago, but seen it on Ebay for $50 - $70 now.

Also forgot to mention my Milwaukee combo meter is a DUAL CALIBRATING meter.
I can, but don't have to, use the 4.01 AND the 7.01 calibrating solutions for an even more accurate calibration.

Meaning :

I can JUST use the 7.01 solution to calibrate.
Or use both the 4.01 and 7.01 for a super accurate calibration.
Milwaukee recommends calibrating this model monthly.
Keep it stored in the proper solution (4.01 or 7.01), or the failure to do so can/will damage the probe due to it drying out.
That lack of proper storage is what throws some peoples meters off too.
I calibrate monthly and have not had a problem in the 1.5yrs I've owned it.
My sig verifies that.....................lol
