HW Fruit Punch & HW Strawberry Cake

Hi Guys,

I joined this forum a few months back as a complete noob to the entire idea of cannabis cultivation. Here I am today with all my equipment and I'm already 2 weeks into true flower, the amount of information out there is truly mind-boggling. I feel I have learnt so much already but I know there is still much much more to learn.

Quick run down of my setup:

1.2 1.2 1.85 Jardin Tent
600w dual spec HPS
6" Rhino A1 extraction / passive intake
Rhino Pro L1 carbon filter
Plagron Batmix (Soil)
10ltr pots
Plant Magic OT nute range
Lights on/off 28/25

As this is my first attempt I have not gone about any LST'ing or any other form of training. I thought it would be best to get to grips with everything before I started any advanced techniques. What I did do was top one of my plants (the tallest one).

I have some yellow leaves and some are yellowing inside the canopy.

They are clearly in flower, what is "Lights on/off 28/25" ...? I would have them on 12/12, and on bloom nutes with supplemental cal-mag. Adjust PH to 6.5 or so

Lights on/off temps is what I meant. They are on 12/12. I'm growing in soil so no need to PH adjust. I'm currently feeding 3ml bloom every 48 hours with a water in between feeds.

"I'm growing in soil so no need to PH adjust". Ok, well, good luck then. I would do it differently... I would adjust PH to 6.5 and stop overwatering, but thats just how I do it. good luck

It is my understanding that soil acts as a natural buffer so there is no need for adjusting the PH. I added some mag at the end of my veg cycle and I'm only watering a liter every 48 hours so I can't see how I'm overwatering ?

Good looking for your first grow!
On the issue of watering, take good advice when offered. You are watering too often. Cannabis plants do best when watered thoroughly, then left to dry out. Not to the point of drooping, but the pot should feel light. This allows oxygen to get to the roots. Water every 3 - 4 days. Feed 1x/week.
Also, I've been growing Fruit punch for about 5 years now. She is a very hardy strain AND a very heavy feeder. If that's the one that's got yellowing leaves, I'd up her bloom nutes and calmag

Why ask questions just to argue with the answer? Over watering has nothing to do with how much water, its how often their being watered. Roots need oxygen, and the soil ph changes as it dries allowing the plant to absorb what it needs throughout the range.

I just finished a strawberry cheesecake, i cloned it, the clone is 2 weeks out. Was a very easy pheno to grow, cloned without failure in soil, and of the 4 strains in that run, it gave the most jarable weight. Stretched to beat hell, so I pulled in down outta my light. I have 3 clones off that plant out in the wild, also. I wasnt happy with the resin on that plant, so I just started a new seed and I will try to get it in the tent mid to late WIN_20160617_17_53_37_Pro.jpg August...

Sorry I didn't mean to come across as that type. I just merely stated I had been told differently and got 'good luck' as a response?

Anywho.. moving forward.... Can someone care to explain to me why I have been told not to bother with PH in soil if this is totally untrue? I have not done any sort of PH'ing so far and this is the stage I'm at. Have I just got lucky or what?

Every 48hours my pots are super light so I water thoroughly until the next time they're super light. I'm using an organic nute range that feeds the microhead in the soil at 3ml per liter.

@doobie. They are some nice looking nugs there mate, I would be ecstatic if mine turned out like that.

Thanks in advanced guys.

I would personally say strain and the upbringing on the plant is huge also... if it's what a plant is raised up on it may be able to handle more abundant amounts of water or heat or dry temperatures, high humidity etc... for example... my 6 were grown seed to flower in 90+ degree Temps...

These outdoor bag seed plants only in a 4L pot... my buddy waters them literally near a litre a day if not more... and not once has he ph adjusted his water... straight from the hose! The ones 3 ft and the other ones 4 ft tall and they look gorgeous!

Hey guys any idea what's going on with my plant in the pictures ? I'm worried they're about to die. Yellowing is rising up the plant. I think I've overfed so the last two feeds have been only water. I gave a dose of magnesium and I'll give another dose today. I really can't afford for these to die.
