I made a what seems to be the mistake of purchasing a carrier 5 ton outdoor so called "split system". It belongs to the performance series, model # 38HDR060521 without doing much research. anyways, I can't seem to find the indoor unit online, everything I see looks more like a central air handler . I actually thought I got a great deal, hopefully someone can make that the case.

If it is a split system than you need an air handler to cool the inside what you got is a condenser. Also 5 tons is huge unless your trying to cool 2500 sq ft.

I'd dump it unless you got it for absolutely nothing.

split means central ac, mini split is what you wanted with just a couple hoses and a wall mount unit inside.

I'm purchasing two of em next month. best deal I could find is (2) new five ton split systems.

Planning on putting them outback. Anyone ever put them inside before? how big of a fan would suffice? 1700?
