should i go with the 550 cfm or 400 cfm 6 in 16 or 6 in 24? for a hurricane 6 inch 435 cfm fan i heard if the fans bigger than the filter cfm rating it sucks faster then it can filter. 35 cfm i don't think is a big difference but what if it dosnt suck enough

I have 4x4 and got the smaller filter with 6' fan. Worked out great. What price you looking at?

400 cfm will be fine considering when you add your ducting it reduces the cfm anyways. also for future reference its 6 x 16 and 6 x 24.. some people may get confused the way you worded it but no big deal :p

The 435hurricane fan is matched to the 400phresh cfm filter, I belive.

I saw some video saying the combo puts you at about 408cfm of moving air when used together. So just a bit above the filter rating for ducting and such...I belive it I guess.

I have a 6" 420 cfm max fan pro with a 6x24 can lite filter in a 4x4 and it works great, the built in speed control is a nice feature too. I always get the biggest i can afford incase i want to upgrade in the future, but the 400 cfm filter will be fine.

I would not run hurricane fans they are very over rated no way near what they write on the box. But to each his own and if you still decide to run hurricane fans and want a good deal on them I have 8 6"inlines 8 8"inlines I'll give em to ya for a he'll of a deal. Also I personally think the original can filters are the best out there and they make a great high quality fan.
