Hurkle, Shovelhead Kush, Space Candy?

Just got a pack of Galactic Jack and on the back they have some strains listed I've never heard of. Anybody got any info?

I know the official TGA testers were testing them. They must of passed the test or maybe their selling the rest of the testers? Idk.
TGA has come out with A LOT of new strains in the last year.. Something im not too enthused about but they gotta make their money i guess.. I love TGA and will always grow their genetics but i think they came out with too many strains this year.. It makes me wonder how much testing they did. Not doubting that these will be fire though because sure they will be.

I was researching the Quantum Kush and bought a pack of it along with Nurse Jackie (hasn't arrived yet, seperate order for doubling up on freebies) and the test data on their website is dated from early-mid 2013 time line, so I would assume they had atleast 6 months plus however long it took to actually breed, grow and observe what they had before releasing for sell. Who knows except those truly involved.

And with the names of them I can only guess that is goes something like this,
Hurkle: Querkle or Urkle cross
Shovelhead Kush: Hell's Angel OG cross
Space Candy: Space Queen cross

Huerkle = Querkle x Harlequin and is a high CBD strain. I don't think/know if this has been released yet, though, I do know of it b/c about a year ago I was asked if I wanted to test it.

Space Kandy- Cotton Candy Kush x Space Queen. I actually have this strain and have for a while. Haven't got around to it yet. He has mentioned what the plans were for this strain on one of the last couple of nerds.

As far as testing goes, I can say these strains are being tested mostly behind the scenes by the TGA crew and testers. It's not like TGA is stingy. I got way more strains then I know what to do with. And chances are I have some strains that are unknown crosses to majority of people that I've been asked to run and give my opinions on. I see him giving testers/freebies out to the public all the time. The more info you have the better.

If you noticed since he has gotten all these new strains TGA has grown. Jinx, Odie, Mush. It's not like Subcool is making all these strains by himself. He has lots of help.

Over on IRC back I'd say atleast 2 years ago he told me that TGA was about to grow with some new breeders and that ton's of new strains were and are going to be in testing in the future. It's not like this just all happened out of the blue. TGA has been hard at work behind the scenes.

No doubt there. I knew he had a group of breeders who make and test stuff out. But as far as who holds what and how long they take testing new stuff is for them to know. Just wondering if any of these will come to pass. Interested in the Shovelhead, just want some background.

Trust me T Ray, last thing i would wanna do is offend any weed nerds or a TGA tester by any means.. I wasnt saying that Subcool was the one doing all the breeding. I know exactly who his team of breeders are and how Sub hasnt bred anything for a while until recently he made cuve or however you spell it. I know that Odie Mush Jinx Spliff Dirk TC and Mzjill all have a bunch of crosses they bred thats in testing. a bunch of them which im sure you got your hands on that have been tested and have passed the test by Sub. He even said himself nothing is released till it goes by him and he likes it.. I definitely trust all these breeders are making nothing but excellent strains weather they make the list or not because i see results like 30% THC and dont even question weather its good or not, i just know it is lol. I know theres lots of people who have got all these testers in their hands, but rarely do you see actual reports from the public on these testers other than from you and ocan. Like you said, mostly everything is behind the scenes. Its awesome that TGA is generous enough to hand out testers to people for free and thats another reason why i will continue to support TGA. But i just thought that like 10 strains being released in one year even from multiple breeders is a lot from one company... Not even counting all the strains that they are testing still. And on the TGA Facebook, MZjill made a post saying Pennywise was being "recalled" or "isnt for sale right now" which was a first from TGA and made me raise an eye brow. But what do i know. That was for reasons i dont know i just assumed maybe it wasnt tested enough..

Once again, i didnt mean to be offensive and didnt mean to say that TGA was releasing strains just to make money because i know thats not true.. But the stupid haters certainly think that. I know everything Subcool and Mzjill do is for a great cause and i commend them and the whole TGA crew for that.

Im still a weed nerd and i still will grow TGA forever because personally
i havent found any company out there better than them.

Its like Taylor Made and Callaway in golf. They are the top dawgs as far as performance and sales goes. Each year they test and release a bunch of new clubs that are supposed to be better than the previous one and theyre apparently now the best clubs.
But the more clubs being released makes each one less and less valuable as more and more new things come out.. And youll see people quickly forget about the models from a couple years ago.. But we still will buy all the new stuff because its the best. Thats what i dont want to happen to TGA.. Not every strain he has sticks around forever though. I just thnk people are quickly forgetting all the older strains like Vortex and Qrazy Train because all the new stuff thats coming out. Thats what happens with everything though.

Their bank account? Unless they are a non-profit company, then I would have to believe that their main motive is money. Nothing wrong with that per se, but this is the Untited States of America. Money trumps all else.

Not trying to be a "hater", but some people wear rose colored glasses when it comes to TGA and subcool.

Thats your opinion and something i personally dont agree with.
They create great strains, they put their own time and money into making them.
I think anyone who makes a good product deserves to get paid for it.
I say they do things for a great cause, because they create strains for people who are in need
of safe and effective medicines. If they didnt make money they wouldnt be able to continue to make them.
When people tell Sub that Vortex has changed their life in a positive way, you dont think that motivates them
To Continue to help people? They have taxes and bills to pay, and they devote their lives to this company..
You know they do give back.. They raise money for charity, buy a bunch of christmas gifts for the less fortunate.
and they still go around giving out hundreds of testers pack they easily could of made money on.. But theyre all about making money..

nothing wrong with what you believe, but i dont believe that money is the only motive... At least GOOD, positive people dont look at it that way.

I don't totally disagree with you wolf. Like I said, there's nothing wrong with making money, I just don't buy that "everything that subcool and Mzjill do is for a great cause". That's not true. Their primary motive is to make money, and this sub-forum, the weed nerd, seed sales, cannabis cups, etc are all tied to that purpose. I have no reason to believe that they aren't generous with their time and giving away testers and what not, but even that helps pad the bottom line due to the positive PR that generates. They run a business that's primary objective is to make money. To believe anything short of that is being naive IMO.

sub is one of the few(if not the only) breeders who makes it clear that it is not all about the money...what other breeders upload videos every week of their personal grow rooms sharing all their techniques and knowledge??

This is not to bash SUB, but on his outdoor grow: he said everything is going to charity (after he made back expenses). how is it charity if it's only charity when you get your expences back. therefore it's about Money first and foremost

Ugh. Do you honestly believe that subcool has nothing better to do than to make youtube videos just to entertain and educate you??? It's called marketing, and every company does it. He uses that platform to keep his followers abreast of new seed lines, apparel, TGA nug jars, etc. I mean, Apple uses youtube in a similar fashion. Are they just being nice and giving, or are they trying to sell you stuff? Bed Bath and Beyond has 266 videos posted on youtube. Best Buy has 8 different youtube channels. I suppose they are just being kind and giving too, huh?

If subcool isn't concerned about profit, why are his seeds $100+ per pack and someone like Sannies is less than half that? My god, he's even branded someone elses soil recipe and is selling it as his own. Good for him. Capitalism at it's finest ..... but please drop this "subcool isn't in it for the money" bit. It's ridiculous.

100$ for a pack??? thats weird because i could get one right now for 60$, at this point you are just making things up, im pretty sure sub has said many times super soil is not even his company...and i never once said "subcool isn't in it for the money" learn how to read!!! everyone is in it for the money to some extent, like i said before "sub is one of the few(if not the only) breeders who makes it clear that it is not ALL about the money" why did sub turn RUI and the world on to Matt Rize and Frenchy??to boost his seed sales somehow?? A pack of 10 seeds. You can't get a pack of 10 TGA seeds for $60.

I personally would not defend or just take up for someone that I don't really know on a personal level. I've seen people defend sub like it's their own brother. He is just another breeder trying to make a buck.

Sub is 2 things. a great grower-breeder and salesman. he's admitted that already. He's combined the two and he's good at it. I do get a little bit of compassion fatigue when hearing how much they do for charity. it's a business. "I HAD A 80% TURN OVER RATE, MY BOSS LOVED MY ASS!" lol from an old weed nerd.

sub does make money. he also gives to charity. its called non profit in most cases. non profit still has to cover expenses and pay employees. the company doesnt make a profit. im not saying sub does that. in the last weed nerd he says he takes enough to to pay bills which im sure includes rent or mortgage and what not. groceries ,utilities, garden supplies, etc...

I love you hyroot but F that. Everyone knows non profits are a scam. There is no board or anything to set wages and everyone knows you pad your pockets first. Trust me, if I had the experience, knowledge, and connections that he does I would be doing the same fucking thing and I would do it better than he is. I think he's a dipshit.
