Sounds like you bought a de-humidifier take it back . Or your hygrometer isnt working properly . Unless you have way too much vaccum built up in your room? Does steam like vapor come out of the new "humidifier"? They have a small vicks one at cvs for 10 bucks!

i put the humidfir inside the growroom and in 3 hours the humidity was still at 20%........... WTF i think my hydrometer is fucked or something.. whats the worst case senario with my room at 20%the whole growth?
I think your meter is probably correct. I'll assume you have forced air heating.

All the tricks people are suggesting won't work if your grow space has good ventilation. Your only options are to seal up your grow space more or raise the humidity of your entire house. Is it possible to close up the room where you grow space is? If that is the case then a smallish humidifier will raise the humidity a bit. Otherwise forget it, you need a big-ass humidifier, not a one room Wal-Mart cheapie. Forced air heating will suck humidity out of the air faster than you can replace it unless you go big.

Tell us about your grow space.

I've been battling the same probs, phatblunt. I've actually learned to deal with the fact that i'm just gonna have low humidity when i'm veggin:sad:. I've tried all the tricks too, everything everyones saind on here, (except the rocks under the pot thing). My humidifyer holds close to a gallon of h2o, and puts out hell-a-steam and still it bareley phases my levels. Picasso's right on the money about the ventillation of the grow space having huge effects on humidity levels(temps too, but that's a different thread altogether). To cool MY space, which used to be a closet, i've had to bring in multiple fans, and an ac unit and with all that air blowing around i think it's a losing battle for me. So far, only side effects i've noticed, is just that i gotta water more often, and sometimes my leaves will get a bit papery. Other than that, I've found my vegging plants do doin pretty well even in 14%.
