humidity problems!!!

ive been doing a bit of looking around to find out cheap ways to keep down humidity, ive seen a few articles saying u can get a steel pot and put plenty of salt in it and sit it in the room, not your everyday table salt because in has a caking agent in it which keeps the moisture out of the salt,so either cooking salt because that has none in it or rock salt! could anybody shed some light on this please? any help at all would be brilliant! :D :leaf:

WOW! thanks for the reply its much appreciated! but to be honest i couldnt make heads or tails from what was said! so did it say its a good thing or a bad thing to use salt in a room? im sorry for sounding so dumb, lol, but some insite into the article would be much help to me +rep for you mauler57

I believe they are stating it can be done, but as the moisture is absorbed, the relative humidity will climb back up. They suggest piling the salt into a conical shape (ice cream cone) and using something like a straining filter made of material....between you and I...I'm in the US in a state that has VERY HIGH humidity year round. I used to stress and worry about mold. I have since discovered.....as long as you keep the humid air moving using FANS, humidity pockets can be eliminated. I keep a fan blowing across the canopy and a fan blowing up and through the plant. Is it best to have your humidity levels in an optimal range??? Absolutely!! But, I have seen my humidity levels shoot up to 85% and I have no problems and am only 2-3 weeks out from harvest. Follow my sig to see my grow. I am growing in a tent with DWC which REALLY SPIKES the humidity...

man fair play for all your help,u made it more clearer for me :) i have an oscillating fan constantly blowing over the canopy of the plants,i also have an extravor fan and and intake fan...ill most def follow your grow my good man :)
