Humidity control

1st time grower. I'm in Arizona legal now. I have 2x4 tent with 195cfm fan. And a cool humidifier. I'm not able to keep the humidity up it is the desert could my fan be too strong? Suggestions plz
 
You condition the air outside the tent as well as the inside.

Stick an ultrasonic in the tent and another in the room where the tent resides. If you need more. One humidifier in the tent. Two in the outside room.

The fan doesn't matter. All its doing is circulating the moist air.
 
You dont have to run your exhaust 24/7 if you dont mind a little of the smell leaking. I have my exhaust fan running on humidity levels, not heat, and it works well. Backup exhaust on a temp controller makes sure it doesnt roast in there

The only purpose of a tent is to hide the plants and control smell. That's it only purpose. Think of it like growing plants on the kitchen table. Using a tent is like hanging curtains around the table. Sorta sealing it off.

The environment of the outside room has the most effect on the environment "behind the curtains"...inside the tent.

Also keeps the light where it belongs as well as the dark. A light is much more efficient in a tent than an open room

I wouldn't call it efficient. Light discipline can be accomplished inside the tent or the outside room. Which can be a pain if you're running 12/12. Can't turn a light on for 12 hours.

You are joking right? Light intensity is definitely better in a mylar walled tent than an open area

No joking when helping a new grower. I understand the reflective wall thing. I recoat my grow room with white paint every two years. There's three walls that can reflect. Does it help? I guess. My LEDs have a 120° viewing angle. To get a good wall reflection would mean the wall being against the plants.

In a tent, after it gets tight from growth. The only reflection going on is near the top of the tent. Open room or a semi open room. Where you place the plants near a wall. The growth is the same on the wall side as the open.

Plus, run enough light. You can grow plants on the kitchen table. Reflection? I've seen it add about 50 lux.
 
Get a decent humidifier, and turn your exhaust fan down as low as possible. Once your plants mature a bit the space will naturally become more humid. You should be able to get it at around 45% humidity comfortably at that point I think.
 
A cheap aquarium pump, air line, airstone, valve, container, water, electricity.
Connect air stone to line. Connect other end to valve. Connect another piece of line between valve and pump. Place air stone in container. Fill 3/4 with water. Plug in pump. Adjust valve to keep mist in container. More effective and cheaper than maintenance nightmare of a humidifier. Best wishes.
